Triple B's statement of claim was filed in March and is 26 pages of scathing allegations of poor drainage, insufficient insulation, badly poured concrete and a host of other issues at the stadium. The lawsuit alleges that the cost so far to repair the deficiencies is at $4.72 million. The chair of Triple B told media in March the ongoing repairs would run many millions of dollars more.
Stuart Olson has now responded with its statement of defence and a cross-claim of its own against Raymond Wan. It cites the actions of the Province of Manitoba in the defence, saying, "Throughout the course of the project the Plaintiff (Triple B Stadium Inc.) and its stakeholder, the Province of Manitoba, sought to complete the project in as fast a manner as possible." The statement of defence says Triple B Stadium and the province "knowingly approved a design without regard for the problems that the Plaintiff now pleads as being the responsibility of Stuart Olson."
According to Stuart Olson's statement, Triple B and the province "made many decisions with respect to the construction and design of the field without adequately taking the time to consider many details, including for example, what concessions would be installed at IG Field, operational logistics reviews, media broadcast requirements, air structure feasibility and winter use." The head of the company's legal department says Stuart Olson denies "any allegation of poor workmanship … and stand behind our work, we are proud of it."www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/builder-strikes-back-stuart-olson-blames-province-and-bbb-for-rush-job-on-stadium-1.3046436In other words, a $200 million publicly funded stadium is falling apart in under two years since it was build. David Asper's company designed it too, so that speaks volumes. What a Gong Show the Bombers have become. If the Stadium is found to have serious defects to it's foundation or of the like, I say we just tear it down, and fold the team outright. What a waste.

From 2013: Phil Sheegl says concern over the quality of construction at the $200-million Investors Group Field isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Cracks in the concrete on the concourse level, ramps and some other areas have appeared at the new home of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on the University of Manitoba’s campus. After a one-year delay in opening the facility and a disaster of a transportation plan for the Bombers’ first exhibition game, it seemed like a third strike to some.
“It’s not a problem. It’s nothing structural. It’s just a cosmetic issue,” Sheegl, the chairman of BBB Stadium Inc., a non-profit organization that owns the facility, said Thursday. “Anyone who’s built a house or built a sidewalk knows about cracks in concrete.” Sheegl said responsibility for addressing any issues that arise from the cracking falls to Stuart Olson Dominion under terms of a stadium construction deal that came with a guaranteed maximum price.
The cracks could lead to bigger problems with moisture getting into the concrete and repeatedly freezing and thawing. “Anything that needs to be addressed will be addressed by the general contractor,” Sheegl, who is also the City of Winnipeg’s chief administrative officer, said.www.winnipegsun.com/2013/06/20/cracks-already-appear-at-new-stadium

I remember thinking when they made modifications to the roof, looking at it, and thinking "this thing is going to come down during a big snowstorm." It just looks like it was build cheaply, and may have trouble withstanding some of Winnipeg's elements.

Loan to cover there asses! This is only the crap they let the public know about, ask all the trades that went in there and were doing repairs a year ago and all had to sign letters of confidentiality,"as I was told, I don't know for a fact, but my source hasn't been wrong yet" so not to disclose what they were doing, why did they have to do that....

This one is all on Selinger. He had them digging a hole at the university site with no drawings and not even a clear consensus if that was the best location for a stadium. All so he could campaign that he's getting a new stadium built. Total political interference. I still believe the old Canada Packers site would of been a much better location. To bad us taxpayers are going to foot the bill witch will probally be closer to 50 mil not the.35 they're guessing.
