Some reports say that Alexander Galimov passed away after but nothing confirmed yet.

it was confirmed that Brad Mccrimmon was on that plane and has died. Brads brother Kelly owns and operates the Brandon Wheat Kings. My heart goes out to all of Brad's family. This is very sad news. I actually got to meet Brad last year at the Memorial Cup and he seemed like a very nice guy. RIP

This thread is in the wrong place. It involved a former Jet and Thrasher Coach. It needs to be in Jets Talk where people will see it. Two people directly linked to the Jets. Please move it back.

When I started it, I didn't know for sure if Korolev was on the plane. Went back and modified it after. Place it where you think it best belongs.

Please PM mods if you have such a request in the future. We had 3 threads on this same topic it 3 different sections. That called for amalgamation. There is not a hard rule on where threads go...just in the "best place" they seem to go. However, in the main "Jets Talk" we will allow discussion on topics/news that may arguably be better suited for a different section if they are big news stories, in this case a KHL tragedy with some NHL/Jets links....I'm placing this thread back in Jets Talk for now given how serious/big this story is...to your point above: news of past Jets players from the original Jets and former coaches of the Thrashers normally does not go in this section BTW...

What a horrible tragedy R.I.P. all those who died. Have heard conflicting reports that Salei was on the plane & died and others have told me they've heard he wasn't on the plane. Does anyone know for sure?

This is so sad, I have meet Brad on a couple occasions and hockey world has lost a great man. Being in Brandon this tragedy is even sadder as Kelly has been our Wheat King GM/Coach/Owner for many years. He only gave up the coaching role this season. I can't even imagine what his and Brad's family are going through right now. As a long time Wheat King supporter, I send out my thoughts to all those involved. All those players/staff...this is so sad.

My favorite memory of Karlis Skrastins was during the December 2010 Stars game against the Habs and Karlis scored a rare goal to make it 3-0 and I remember me, my friend and the crowd going crazy because he rarely ever scored, it was an incredible moment and on the way back home it was all we talked about. Just a dark day for sports, no words to describe this. Unreal tragedy that is still, just doesn't feel real, you just pray something like this never happens.
