Apparently it was nice weather. Can't believe an entire team gone. It's surreal to have watched some of those players/names play hockey in years past.

Very tragic news.
As a hockey fan, I have a tremendous amout of respect for Russian hockey and it's players and I feel really sad the entire hockey community.

EEEEK! As if the off-season couldn't get any worse! Now ALL the teams I like (Wild, Canucks, Jets and Blackhawks) have lost someone who was/is part of their family this summer! RIP Lokomotiv Yaroslavl and condolences to everyone who's affiliated with the team and the city of Yaroslavl!

I thought I read one report that said that is was a 42 passenger plane with 43 confirmed dead(45 on board)... I mean it would be heavy for regular passengers let alone a hockey team with full gear. Really tragic.

Man, I couldn't believe it when I read it. I was just watching Salei last year in the playoffs! To think Demitra gone at 37..
What a sad summer for hockey.

A horrible tragedy. Based on quotes from various former players in that league, the charter planes sound like they are scary.
My thoughts and prayers are with their loved ones and friends.

So tragic I cant imagine how much pain those families and the community are going through. I still remember Salei scoring a huge overtime gwg in the finals against new jersey. He was a great guy.
