Red Sox, Blue Jays to meet in Montreal in exhibition games April 1-2The official announcement is scheduled to be made in a conference call Friday, but the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays are set to meet in two exhibition games in Montreal's Olympic Stadium at the end of spring training in 2016. A major league source said Wednesday night that the teams will meet on Friday night, April 1, and on Saturday, April 2, after both teams break camp in Florida. The Red Sox are scheduled to open the regular season April 4 in Cleveland; the Blue Jays are scheduled to open against the Tampa Bay Rays in St. Petersburg, Florida, then return to Rogers Centre in Toronto for their home opener April 8 against the Red Sox. Officials from both clubs as well as Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre are scheduled to participate in the conference call. espn.go.com/boston/mlb/story/_/id/13674718/boston-red-sox-toronto-blue-jays-meet-montreal-exhibition-games?ex_cid=espnapi_public

Good stuff for the MLB...sends a message to places that need stadiums...though the MLB has been great with eliminating crappy fields

Ya, other than Tampa, Oakland and Toronto. They will have another 2 huge crowds and there will be St. Pete must let the Rays leave for Tampa or some very bad people from Montreal will take the team away in 2028 stories. Eventually they will solve Tampa and Oakland. Both teams at least are smart enough to WANT new stadiums. MLB should step in and tell Rogers that a circular cookie cutter is NOT acceptable this day and age. Selig failed to do this and Manfred the same. It's a joke you have the 4th biggest market with a good fan base mostly producing lower 2/3rd revenues. Jays should be in or just slightly outside the top 10 crappy Canadian dollar and all. MLB should also tell Rogers that not only the Dome must go but so too must the Ted Rogers statue and they must replace the statue with a Joe Carter 1993 world series statue with his arms raised after winning the world series.
