The obvious assumption is that we cannot buy out Pavelec. Thaat means we have 3 goaltenders, and Comrie in the AHL. Hutch's contract is set to expire. What should we do?

Hutch is an NHL level goalie... sign him to a 3 year deal at 700k. Be prepared to play him on the Moose for the 700K. Think of it as 100 k this year and 1 M for the next 2. 1M is pretty much the min for an NHL back up. He will be worth a 1st round pick if somehow he is not the jets #2 in 2017-18.

Talbot 27 years old is 33-15-5 with a .931 save percentage and 2.00 GAA in 57 NHL games when he was traded to the oilers for #57 and #79 Hutchinson 26 is 32-26-8 with a .916 sv% and 2.53 GAA in 71 NHL games on a far far weaker defensive team than the NYR Martin Jones 25 years old 16-11-2 .923 sv% and 1.99 GAA. in only 34 NHL games. The year he was traded for a first round pick 4-5-1 .906 sv % and 2.24 GAA.

I think Hutch still has potential to find his game again and better long term option in a tandem than Pavelec. Of course everyone is expecting Hellebuyck to be #1 very soon, Pavs to be gone after this coming year. Even if you're not a big Hutch believer, I think he's good insurance at a presumably fair price.
