For my 100th post on this GREAT HOCKEY SITE... I decided to talk about what I love to talk about most in MLB, NFL, and the NHL... ALL-TIME LINEUPS! The Best of the Best! But this time, not just for one team...but for the whole NHL! 12 Wingers/Centers 8 Defensemen 2 Goalies 3 Extras (Any position you want) From Howe to Hawerchuck, Selanne to Sid, Bobbys Orr and Hull, Gretzky, Lemieux, Roy, Sawchuck... Build the best 25-man roster possible in NHL History! (Bonus points if you give the lines and pairings!)

I like your team. I'd only make a few changes.
On D: Remove Scott Stevens and replace with Larry Robinson
G: Remove Jacques Plante and replace with Terry Sawchuk, keep Brodeur on the Bench.
F: Remove Brett Hull and replace with Guy Lafleur. Remove Phil Esposito from the Bench and replace with Peter Forsberg.
I'd like to get Peter Stastny and Ron Francis in there somewhere as well but I can't cut anyone already listed to make room for them. Maybe Stastny on the Bench instead of Forsberg.

Plante/Sawchuck was a hard choice...that one can really go either way...
And it came down to Esposito or Lafleur for that last slot, and I went with Esposito because otehrwise I'd have two wingers and a goalie on the bench and no spare centers.
And I was going to put Lafleur in over Hull...
And then I saw Hull's 700+ goals.
Different eras, sure, but still...hard to turn down a 700 goal scorer (Marcel Dionne just missed this team, Esposito's success and leadership winning out, he'd be #26 for me if I could add one more, though if I did add another D, Forsberg would be a good choice.)

Why is he so necessary to add on defense? I know he was a great defenseman, a HOFer, but others, like Ernie Shore and Doug Harvey, were also great and they missed out, too... So why is Robinson special? And ditto Gainey... Granted I have no love for Luc Robot-tile as a Ducks fan, but 600+ goals to Gainey's 239... And Robitaille's just the #4 LW on that list...how does Gainey top them on G/A/P?

Larry Robinson: 958 pts, 6 Stanley Cups, 2 Norris, +730 over his career (which is a record). He beats out Stevens in my books.
Eddie Shore is WAY before my time, playing in the 30's as is Harvey in the 40's & 50's.
