The Cubs are 72-41, and ahve won 10 in a row. I know they came up short last year, but they are pulling away from the NL teams, and should win the pennant. Will the curse be broken? Boston did it in 2004, so there is that chance...

In my BIASED opinion yes the Cubs are by FAR the best team on paper but you never know because the playoffs are a crap shoot. This years team is a LOT better than last years. Getting Aroldis Chapman makes the games shorter. The cubs didn't have Carl Edwards last year in the playoffs either(they left him off the roster/not enough experience at that time) Kyle Hendricks has improved a lot(he almost leads the NL in ERA and is looking like Maddux) and they solved Jason Hammel's usual 2nd half woes(more potato chips in his diet LOL). John Lackey in the rotation was another big addition(especially with his playoff experience). Ben Zobrist replacing Starlin Castro was a big upgrade. Willson Contraras at catcher is another big upgrade over Miguel Montero.
The thing I like most is none of the other MLB teams are that impressive. Boston's/Baltimore's rotations suck, San Francisco is in a tail spin, the Dodgers don't have Greinke and Kershaw is still hurt. Pittsburgh is done, St. Louis is blah, the Mets are hurting and won't make the playoffs(Harvey is out for the year, Matz/Syndergaard have bone spurs in the elbow). Texas made good moves at the trade deadline and has a deep bullpen but they only have 2 starters(Hammel/Darvish).
I think the biggest risk is the Nationals with Schurzer/Strausberg. But even with them Harper is having a down year, and Joe Ross has been hurt in the rotation.
If this isn't the year this team is cursed and it will NEVER be the year. If they can't win with a down year by the rest of MLB and a loaded roster I give up. LOL

Very good article. But the article NEVER mentions the elephant in the room on why the White Sox are irrelevant/forgotten. It's not just Wrigley/better marketing etc.... It's they have the worst/most unlikable sports owner in history. When the idiot dies it won't be like this at all. It will be similar to the Blackhawks when Bill died and Rocky took over. There is no anti-Sox media conspiracy.
