I'm going out on a limb, and predicting that Connor McDavid will have a breakthrough season, and score at least 40 goals, and 90 points. In fact, I think the Oilers are playoff-bound within 2 years. This will be great, as I think the Jets will make the playoffs, and an Oilers-Jets matchup is just what the city needs to shake the ghosts of the 80s off, when we were humiliated each season by the Oilers dynasty.
PS...McDavid will win the Hart Trophy.

Logically the Hart trophy will most likely go to a player on a playoff team...so what the wolfman said.

Mcdavid is definitely going to be a talent. My projection (based on a full season played) is ~90-95 points which will put him around top 3-5 in the NHL. This would be a remarkable achievement based on him not even playing 50 games yet in the NHL.
I could see Patrick Kane, Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin and Sidney Crosby having more points.

Who knows, maybe even Wheeler, Scheif or Laine could have more points.

I think McDavid can possibly break the 100 point barrier. Crosby won the scoring title in his second year, and McDavid is as good or even better at his age.

He is by far, the strongest candidate, as he has led the Oilers to their first playoff appearance since 2006.

I think McDavid is a lock. Crosby will get a lot of votes I'm sure and has been great too, but McDavid has changed the Oiler's losing culture...something that we here know all too well is a very difficult thing to do.
