Shocked that Leaf fans did not gobble up the unused tickets.

Shocked that Leaf fans did not gobble up the unused tickets. Is that sarcasm? You should know by now, that the Leafs building is sold out from businesses owning all the seats. No way those fair weather fans are going to travel and and pay for their own tickets. Posted w/ Grumpz D-vice

Heck, in the Championship game, that city mustered up 2 go Canada go change. They have history, but don't appreciate the team, and have no where the passion that this city has for its teams. Even our horrible football team drew more fans, from a city less than 1 mill. Keep on walking. Posted w/ Grumpz D-vice

Posted w/ Grumpz D-vice Have 0 clue about the other sports you mention but the Raptors draw well win or lose. Jays only draw when they win because the stadium they play in is a circular concrete over sized ugly failure. US teams that had similar parks in the past(other than St. Louis) drew like crap too when they played in that type of park and lost(and in some cases when they won, see Oakland). Question, how did the Argos do at BMO Field year 1?

Shocked that Leaf fans did not gobble up the unused tickets. Me too. From what I've read/seen in the past Ottawa games get large numbers of Leaf fans. Besides not winning enough part of the problem may be in order to get a new facility in any sport you MUST badmouth your old facility to justify the new one. The Senators have pointed out a lot over the last year or so how poorly their arena is located. Atlanta in baseball did something similar the last few years. After being above league average attendance 12 of the 1st 18 years at Turner Field and never drawing below 29,000 the Braves only drew 25,000ish the last 2 years. Part of this was the team was tanking/rebuilding but part of it was the team itself pointed about how crime ridden the neighborhood around Turner is. You point that out people will be like alright thanks for warning me I won't go.

Those lower bowl seats are all sold, and accounted for. It does not matter that corporations gobble them up. What matters is that the tickets were sold.

Ottawa's attendance last night was 11,061 vs. Arizona With a losing team, we averaged better than in the 80s and 90s, drawing from 700k. Fair weather fans sicken me. Posted w/ Grumpz D-vice
