No team should go without a championship in one whole lifetime, nevermind 5 generations...that's just sad and depressing. Go Cubs!

I'm no baseball fan. The only time I ever watch is if the Jays or Cubs are deep in the playoffs.
Hence I'm cheering for the Cubs.

Missed this poll earlier. Wish i could still vote! Even though I'm a Cubs fan I really hope Cleveland wins. They deserve it, they are the better team. The Cubs are NOT well constructed. Too many strike out guys who can only hit bad pitching(Reds/Brewers). Tonight was the 4th time this postseason the Cubs were shutout which ties a postseason record. Tomorrow they will break the record when Cory Kluber shuts them out a 2nd time. The Cubs DON'T belong here. They would have been out round 1 if San Francisco had anything resembling a bullpen. The Cubs were HORRIFIC at small ball/driving in a runner from 3rd with less than 2 outs all season. The Cubs are an all or nothing team. The only reason the Cubs won so many games is 2 teams in their division are outright tanking for high draft picks(Brewers/Reds) plus they play other tanking NL teams like San Diego, Philadelphia, Atlanta totally inflating the record. Plus the competition in the NL was awful this year(Dodgers/Giants/Nats). Dodgers had a 1ish man staff cause Grienke left, Giants bullpen broke down and the lineup got too old, In Washington Harper was hurt all year. The Cubs had no competition. They won the NL by outright default.
Another problem with this team is the bullpen has fallen apart. Rondon is damaged goods which changes the entire bullpen picture. Strop isn't the same anymore either since he got hurt. Edwards is too young to be thrust into the main man set up roll.
This team also deserves to lose because they totally lack class and character. Watch last weeks celebration when the beat LA. They talked like 4 wins was a forgone conclusion against a great Cleveland team. What a total lack of class. Look at the way they partied last Saturday night. Pathetic. You won NOTHING yet.
Then you look too at how many bad guys this team has. Aroldis Chapman shot at/ abused his girlfriend this offseason. John Lackey left his wife because she got breast cancer and lost a breast(what a class guy). Jason Heyward is a 184M bust. Worst signing in sports history. Then there is Jake Arrieta. Despite the Cubs rescuing his career he won't take a penny less as a free agent. Ever since his no home town discount comments he hasn't been the same. Total mercenary.
The final problem besides lack of character and poorly constructed lineup is the age of the pitching staff/upcoming free agencies. Lester will be 33 next year, Arrieta will be 31 and a year from free agency, Lackey is 38, Hammel is 34 going on 35, Hendrick is the only young one at 27. The Cubs have NOTHING pitching wise in the farm system. The top "prospect" is a 25 year old with arm injuries. LOL It blows my mind how everyone talks like the Cubs have this bright future with this old of a staff and NOTHING in the minors to replace them.
In the bullpen Chapman will leave opening up a HUGE hole(not that I want him back) Rondon's hurt, Strop will be 32 and was hurt this year, Travis Wood the main lefty will leave as a free agent. Tons of holes in the pen.
As far as the lineup that's got problems besides not fitting together. Fowler will leave and replaced by Almora a major downgrade. Zobrist will be 36. They'll run automatic out Jason Heyward out there every day to try and justify the 184M. Then there is the main problem of Schwarber, Rizzo, Baez, Russell, Contreras can't make contact/hit good pitching. Solar is an injury plagued poor defensive outfielder.
All in all I'd be happy to wait another 10-20 years to win. When the win I want is to be with a special/likable group like the 2005 White Sox or this Indians team. NOT this crew!
