Well in all honesty it was a Tuesday night, (Sons of Anarchy and Wheel of Fortune were on) and those photos don't show how many were in the Lexus Lounge.

SOUTHERN HOCKEY FAILURE IS A MYTH...all the panthers need is a good owner and...... the team sucks thats it!! We dont go because the team sucks. Whats funny is this team isnt even last in attendance. The highly competitive new owned coyotes are.

There was a horrible snow blizzard yesterday. Perhaps that explains the poor attendance?
I remember in the 80's (can't remember the exact year) where a Friday blizzard paralysed Winnipeg for several days. We still managed to get to a Jets game with about 6000 of our closest friends. I think we cooked the Devils that night.

The sorry thing is now-a-days, the NHL would postpone the game, transit would halt all operations, or people would just not attend, because of the dangerous conditions. Boy have we turned into a society of pussies!!! Next up; Mandatory snow tires!! Mandatory bicycle helmets!! Mandatory bubble wrap suits for all children under the age of 12!! I remember riding in the back of the station wagon! Don't know how I survived!

Don't know how I survived! *start of thread derailing* I agree that people are just a lot more afraid of the world these days, and it is kind of embarassing. But as far as snow tires go, my thinking has changed on this after the minor snow storm last Wednesday. Traffic was fricking nuts, and what should be a 10 minute drive was taking an hour or more all over the city. I used to think mandatory snow tires was a stupid idea - I know how to drive, why should I have to get 'em? But with all the stupid people out there, barely moving when it snows and holding everyone up, I now think we should do it. It sucks for those of us who know how to drive (safely but not ridiculously slowly), but would speed things up for everyone. *end thread derailing*

I think we cooked the Devils that night. That blizzard started while the Blues were here on Friday November 7, 1986. Devils were in town on Sunday. The snow had stopped but the city was still under 36cm of snow over a 32 hour period. Winds were as high as 90 KPH causing drifts of 2M. Jets beat the Devils 8-1.

It appears you have a better memory than i. I did remember the opponent and the blow out. Given the massive quantities of spirits i consumed that weekend I'm grateful to remember anything.

Bruins got a game postponed last year after Blizzard Nemo.if they held the game there would have been a record low people, snow up to my chest, railways down. Sometimes jerks post a pic of an empty bruins game, it was a game during 2005 where a freak noreaster hit 2 hours before the game...nobody made it.
