It's getting so ugly in Edmonton I am starting to feel sorry for them.Thats saying alot considering I lived through Jets 1.0.I doubt this fixes things. It might of been Chia that was at the helm for the last signing but those above him still had to sign off on it.The risk levels on that signing are huge.Koskinen simply hasn't played enough games to be signed to a deal like that. Its also a modified No trade contract. There was no reason to sign him to that deal.I certainly don't see any easy way out of where they are,at least a quick way.The Lucic contract is an anchor. They don't have alot of assets left to trade. They can move their #1 but is that improving?Perhaps a long slow patience fix would work but do the fans and McDavid have the patience? While Chia had to go to stop the bleeding there are alot of other gushing arteries in that organization.

I don't feel sorry for the Oilers at all. They haven't done much lately but they and their fans have their 5 Cups in the bank...no other non-original 6 team can say that. They've been blessed with 1st overall pick after 1st overall pick, but they're run by a bunch of arrogant alums who can't get past their own egos long enough to stop interfering. Looks good on them imo. Of course when they get it figured out, McDavid will be running roughshod through Jets defense and we'll be wishing for a return to these days.

They are in cap hell, wasting McDavids best years. McDavid doesn't help either with that huge contract, could have been like Crosby, take less so they can get more talented players to play with him
I am quite happy they are where they are
