I don't know about you guys, but I used to love the idea of marathon OT playoff games going into 3rd, and 4th OT periods, but I really see now that it drags down the quality of play for the teams, not only into the next game, but into the next series for the winner. I'd love to eliminate this, but at the same time leave the game decided on the ice as much as possible. I personally like the idea of a progressively-reducing number of skaters with each OT period (5on5 for 1st OT, 4on4 for 2nd OT, 3on3 for 3rd OT). What do you guys think? Is the format just fine as it is now with potential marathon games? Do you want to see games end in a timely manner that allows players to still perform their best as possible in subsequent games/series?

Leave it as is, we don't need gimmicks in the playoffs

Playoffs are a war of attrition as it should be. Dominant teams play fewer playoff games and have less chance of long OT games, thus they are rewarded for their greatness. The system works well as it is imo. I wouldn't mind seeing them change up the regular season format to get rid of the shootout though.
