Really difficult to say at this point. As presently constituted, the Jets are unlikely to make the playoffs, and it will probably come down to three factors: Byfuglien's decision, whether Hellebuyck can regain his effectiveness of two years ago, and if Big 33 stays retired, what Chevy will do with the cap space resulting. If Chevy can bolster the lineup, the Jets will be on the bubble.

Will be problems making the playoffs more particularly a wildcard. Like tracker states it is difficult to state at this point but for the fact it looks weak apparently losing three starters on defence but for me Buff's effect is mainly on the PP. I think that's not really the problem the problem is 2nd line center and various forwards used in the last game. That still has to sort itself out. Of course goaltending and quite frankly it may come down in the last half to these guys working as a tandem.

It would be hard to imagine the year in a positive light, given the turnover, Helle's lack of acceptable play and insight, PoMo's decisions and a very strong Central Division. I should be an optimist but given all the above, they will be hard pressed to make 4th in the division. If they can excel it will be because the line combos click and the young defensemen learn NHL hockey quickly and Brossoit is the goaltender we need. But that is a big ask.
