I am a rule breaker (sorry to the host of this)! If Buf is capable of playing then I package him plus as good a draft choice as it takes to pry Dumba out of Minny. Dumba's numbers are not too great in Minny this year and Minny could use Buf to put bums in seats being a local boy. I think Dumba with Morrissey and Pionk puts our blue line back on track.

Just what we need another small D-man, can't see any team taking on Buff's contract, only way someone will be interested in him is if he is a free agent, Jets need to get the league to void his contract after they win arbitration.

Myself I would package up Jack, Sammy and a first and see if you could get Zach Werenski and Andrew Peeke,

Why is Vesalainen up ? Show casing him perhaps ? Others deserved the re-call before him.

Trade what we can this year for picks to stock our cupboards. No untouchables.

Buff has such a huge value. This year the Jets are getting beat up on teams taking cheap shots against them... Perrrault, Lowry, Little all being hurt on cheap shots that didn't happen with Buff in the line-up. Minnesota is a traditional soft team (similar to what the Jets w/o Buff and Chairot, Myers and Tanev have become) but Dumba is in their top-2 or 3 most physical players ( most hits) the last 4 years. He would help the Jets a whole lot. He was the best Wild player in the playoffs against the Jets 2 seasons back. The Jets have overall reasonable size and toughness but there is no one big enough and tough and crazy enough to provide protection when the other team big guys go head hunting. Lowry is not enough.

Although I do recall some guy running Wheeler from behind and Buff grabbing and rag-dolling him. www.hockeyfights.com/fights/139788 Pretty sure that create a less hostile environment for Wheeler. Drake Caggiula would likely have thought twice before running Lowry had Buff been on the ice.

I agree grumpy...Buff wasn't really a fighter (because nobody would dare challenge him), not a dirty hitter, but say his strength is legendary isn't an exaggeration. Who doesn't remember him grabbing 2 guys by the scruff of the neck and pulling them out of a scrum, or some of devastating hits he dished out. Other teams had to feel some sense of deterrence to cheap shotting our guys as long as Buff was out there. A guy like Reaves, probably not deterred. Cagguila on the other hand, like you say, probably would know he'd be looking over his shoulder all game for what he did to Lowry if Buff was there.
If we're looking for a 4th liner who can kick in 5 minutes a night and add a dimension Jets don't have, Peluso is still active and only 30...I partly jest, only partly.

Roslovic, Niku, and Pionk. Roslovic is still floating and Niku And Pionk though skilled get pushed around too much. I would rather see Nogier and Stanley up with the club and provide a measure of toughness that was lost. My 2 cents.

On "The Illegal Curve" radio show yesterday, a caller who claimed to have inside information, said that Byfuglien went to Chevy and told him that he was done with hockey. Chevy apparently said that Buff ought to take the summer and think it over. The caller also said that Buff is entered to participate in several fishing derbies over the next few months, which would preclude him playing hockey anywhere. The plot thickens.

Completely unbelievable! Chevy telling Buff "relax, take some to think it over." (That was a paraphrased version of course.) Like Chevy is thinking; "We dont need the $7M per year anytime soon to straighten out the sorry mess we are in." No it doesn't sound or smell right.
