Unless we turn things around before the trade deadline, I can't say I would be in favour of a rental at the expense of a first round pick. I get the promises made by Chevy to the veteran core about winning now, but a rental or even two would not put us over the top to get in to the playoffs and make any kind of run. Think of our lineup last year with the addition of Kevin Hayes. How did that work out? The team is far too hamstrung right now given injuries to key people, and to depth guys, and to deeper depth guys who filled in for the original depth guys. Add to that the fact that we have been playing close to 8 million under the cap given the Buff saga. If we go on a heater after the break, great. If we don't, the only trade I could see is a hockey trade where we skip the rental in favour of a player already under contract, ideally someone younger, that we won't lose at the end of the season. Not sure that trade exists, of course.

We are going to have to ride this out and hope for a real good draft pick supplemented by a wise trade or two in the off-season along with a couple of rookies stepping up. I love the energy that Perrault has brought but he and Little are over their "best before" dates and should have been moved before the season began to allow Moose players to move up and gain experience.

Good timing, I was just in the process of starting that thread.

Forget reduced prices on liquids, of all sorts, its not a good idea to drink anything there! They need washrooms. So much so, some have called for the trough to be brought back. I avoid the whole process by avoiding imbibing whilst in the arena. Not that I go often. Pun intended.

Apparently Chevy is interested in Brenden Dillon of the Sharks and negotiations are underway.
