I know, such old news already, but need to have a thread to commemorate this.
Of the veterans they have to select from now, probably no better choice, as much as I was disappointed by his exit interview last season.
Personally, I would have been happier to do a rotating captaincy for a couple of years until one of the young bucks is ready to take over the leadership role...the new franchise player is hopefully already in the pipeline.

Yes well he and Morrissey are really the heart and soul of the team unfortunately crippled by chronic locker room malaise. To the extent they have both been able to negotiate through this serious issue and come through, it appears relatively unscathed, and his enthusiasm evidenced by his accepting the captaincy should go a long ways to moving on from this period.
Unfortunately he still has to tolerate Scheif but my expectation is Scheif is gone by the March trade deadline. By that time the damage will have been done. Lol.

I think the "A" shoulda come off of 55 quite frankly I agree an A doesn't belong on Sheif BUT for the sake of locker room / team cohesion and repair I don't think they could remove it. Lowry having the C will more than compensate for Sheif having an A. Even if he's being traded having a pouty Sheif wouldn't be great advertising if you know what I mean.
