I don't know from my position as a fan what more Harkins has to do to endear himself to the various coaches and GM of the team. I know I value his motor, his grit and his perseverance on the ice. And from what I see he is well liked by players and fans alike. I hope he clears waivers but I believe some team will see his value as I do.

Every team has several of them. He has had multiple chnaces to get one level up at the NHL level but has not. No crime really, just fact. We have essentially 4 players who offer the exact same thing. Each fan may have an opinion on which one we should keep but it really does not matter. This season will not depend on the 13th forward or the 8th D no matter who they are. We may pick up a waiver cut ourselves as the 13th forward and all of our bubble players head to the Moose. Every team has waived guys that have landed at the back end of another team and every team has picked up a waiver guy who makes the back end of thier team. Such is the circle of life for the bubble guys.

Harkins had his shots at making it. It just didn't work out here. Hurts the Moose a bit mind you.

Yeah, the Moose offense will suffer a bit, but kudos to Harkins if he can find a way to break into the Pens lineup.
Probably won't be the only Jet to be claimed off waivers this off-season.

Also noticed that a number of Jets players won’t be playing tonight because of illness.

On a positive note with Harkins gone, it gives a chance to some of the Moose youngsters to step up and gain Harkins spot, more playing minutes to whomever is successful in doing so.
