Hello to everyone here from this newcomer, an angloCanadian living in the UK with the Manitoba connection, and love of The Jets! For those interested, I sound like a cross between Roger Moore, Jordan Peterson, and when excited by a Jets goal, towards the peak of the vocal spectrum sounding like a goalhorn! Kind thanks for your welcome and for reaching out with an olive branch..... oops, I mean a hockey stick I have been quite busy recently but now I am catching up on recent games. Somebody asked me about what hockey is played here in the UK. Firstly, the 'NIHL' league which exists here in the UK, in my humble grey whiskered opinion, is no where up to scratch with the mighty NHL. I have been to a few NIHL games here in the UK, and there is definately some kind of buzz in the crowds that turn up. But the level of gamesmanship and excitement is definately lacking in comparison to the North American/Canadian game. It's still very early in the season, with just a handful of games played now, so the run of Jets losses does not bother me...yet. I find that October games are still training ground for the new faces, as they learn to navigate and connect with their teammates characteristics. The Jets just suffered a loss against the Kings, but hey-ho swo what, eh? What I am personally looking at, are the first games with both the finalist from last season, the Panthers and the (shreeeek!!!) Knights. A fantastic game against the Panthers ends with a comfortable win, with defence, offence and goaltending all looking quite alert and with a nice energy on the ice. Almost everyone else around me here in the quaint corner of merry England here, is cheering at soccer and rugby (bluggh!) and drinking English cider...while I am enjoying a nice Canadian beverage and watching the stars of Manitoba, new and old, fight it out in the ice and against the rattlin' boards! Here comes my personal big moment, which I predict could give a flavour of the Jets season to come.....can they beat the Knights, and how dominant will they play against them? We'll need a goadtender with hands of steel, so send on Hellebuyck guys! And watch out, the big guy is just warming up...! Big yays, tally-ho, and a jolly good kipper supper for me followed by a yummie doughnut the size of my head, if we get a win! GO JETS GO! KGJUK PS: I overstressed a few English sayings for good humour, I do not normally talk like that, hehe.

Hey there, thanks alot Captain C, for your kind thought and post And sorry for the delay in replying only I have been a little ill with flu recently, so much like some of our newbie rookies this year, I am still catching up and gettin' up to full speed! A funny thing happened this last weekend y'know....I visited a big city 'sports bar' where not much of any interest was showing on the big screen TV there. So I asked them to tune in to any NHL hockey action that might be going on. A short while later, to my surprise (and hey there, remember that this is not so Merry ol' England here, where Soccer, Rugby, Golf and Horse racing rule here sadly) a NHL game was showing!! A Jets game was too much to hope for, it was Montreal beating the Bruins, but while me and my friend here were cheering and cooing over the game, it was hilarious to see a quietened crowd of Brits quietly trying to figure out what unseen new sport they were watching, although some seemed to be gettin' used to it! Hehe! Faces showed part puzzlement, part surprise, part disapproval, part lovin' it. Who says we in England are not openminded?!

I dislike the Canadiens so much, but at least you can say that you saw one of Boston's 3 losses this year. 12-1-2, what a start for the Bruins. Guess they didn't need Bergeron & Krecji

That's very kind guys, thanks alot! Oh yes, I will be spreading the hockey love for the Jets over here, especially as our Jets are roaring up with great impressive success so far this season! What a shame they did not quite beat the Stars this week, a brave and valient effort against them. I've dressed up my pooh bear mascot in hockey gear (making a stick out of some coffee stirrers) and he is wearing number 81 for the amazing Kyle Connor who justly has the attention of the entire league right now! BIG BEAR SIZED YAYS for him from over here in quaint England! Have no doubts, your British brothers as ever, stand shoulder to shoulder with all the good people of Manitoba GO JETS GO! GO KYLE GO! GO HELLEBUYCK GO! But a big 'boooo with high jinks' to those Montreal folks although I don't see them as any threat to the Jets this season.
