Not sure if this means anything, but Rutger McGroarty was included on the US team for the upcoming World Junior tourney. Will have to see if he can actually play. Might be that he is recovering sooner than expected/thought, so it lends to the possibility of him playing.

PLD 11 pts. -2. Iafallo 13 pts. - 2. The mega-million diva not exactly lighting it up with LA. Ahh but I am sure he thinks he's the reason they're excelling.

Reading the articles makes one feel good about the kids ability to succeed in the NHL. Who are they going to replace on the team? It seems the Jets are going to be rich in players (not pieces-I hate the word) next year. And the articles just highlighted a few of the talented players.

One year ago Dec 31 Jets beat edmonton and were sitting second in the Central Division with 47 in 37 games. They needed 48 points to limp into the playoffs, after the big swoon that followed in the new year. This year we are a few weeks from Dec 31 but we are in an eerily similar position. 3rd in the Division but with a higher win percentage. How is this team different? Are the players aware of "History Repeats"? Will the same plunge in wins and points happen? How tight will their collars get. Or, is the new addition and the subtraction of the old, be enough to ward away last year's collapse. This maybe unduly negative or hockey fear mongering, but hey, we are here to discuss these weighty hockey issues.

I'm not sure I have ever seen him this committed to a more complete game. 2-The new Captain is another factor, he's night and day different. 3-Back up goaltending , you can't compare Big Save Dave to Bros. He'll win games for us ( he already has) 4- Depth, we are miles deeper. When's the last time we saw our 4th line play like they did against the Avs? It's been years. I'm not saying we are Cup bound but we won't see last year's epic collapse repeated. We'll make the playoffs and sfter that , who knows.

Agree on all you said, I think the hard workers heavily out-number the floaters this season and that's made some switch sides (i.e. Scheifele). I am hoping it continues, but really can't recall the team completely give up on a game yet this season...and that is something they did too often in the past.

^ no thanks, terrible numbers lately and an attitude problem everywhere he goes. Didn't we just get rid of two personalities like his this off-season?

The objective stuff to evaluate a player is out there to see. Would be his 5th team, salary, age performance numbers. But really never the skinny in the media on the player's attitude. Looks like he could help a desperate team. But the the Jets aren't. Next team up for the hockey talking heads.

Apparently Heinola has recovered well enough to start skating. The plot thickens.....

Apparently Heinola has recovered well enough to start skating. The plot thickens..... He is skating with the Jets, however, on his own/by himself.

Today in the Free Press, it was reported that the timeline for Connor's return has been revised to 6-8 weeks. so the damage is worse than first thought.
