I assume if you ring one off the iron that counts as a scoring chance even though it doesn't count as a shot. Any high end close call ? It's all definitly got a good deal of opinion / Grey area to it. As I said the Jets had different numbers apparently. As far as all the Canes shots they definitely threw alot that weren't dangerous. Mind you , a ton were only saved by stellar goal tending. Thats all the answers I have. Natural Stat Trick seems to have a good reputation so I don't know. I dunno. How they come up with the numbers is beyond me. I guess everytime KC fires it high or wide is a scoring chance but not a shot. The thing is, the Canes fired a lot high or wide as well. Aren't all shots that aren't on the net high or wide? Maybe it's the velocity? Or how angry he looks when he's missed another net? Advanced stats, don't you love them. So advanced, even an actuarial doesn't know what the numbers mean.

Wait a second. The Jets had a total of 22 shots on goal. So every shot was considered a scoring chance? If that's the case, how do the Canes end up with 27 scoring chances on 43 shots? Someone help me understand this. I assume if you ring one off the iron that counts as a scoring chance even though it doesn't count as a shot. Any high end close call ? Miss from a bad angle, it's not. Something like that. Or, how much you miss by.

But does it really mean anything? Lol. Good find though. At least I have an idea where they come up with the numbers.

On a game to game basis, I suppose the numbers tell you which team is playing better. Or, you can just watch and decide for yourself. This stuff is great for moral victories. We lost, but we sure corsied their asses.
