Hockey Night in Canada. Hopefully the Jets can start off the 2nd half of the season with a bang!
This game has me worried. Jets will need to bring a better game than they brought against the Hawks on Thursday. Flyers, much like the Jets, are far exceeding the expectations of most pundits.
Injury bug starting to hit the Jets.
Mark Scheifele won't play, he's day to day. Nikolai Ehlers is a game time decision.
In the line projections, Lowry is moved to the 1st line (still assuming Ehlers is playing), Kupari slots in on the 3rd line. Hate to see the 3rd line broken up but maybe these are the best options, especially since Kupari has not played for so long, he probably isn't ready to take first line minutes. Lowry is certainly up to taking the ice time and I think he can play anywhere in the lineup.
IC says they may go 11/7...if they do we'll see if Chisholm or Stanley gets the nod.
If coach is reading this, I think it would be a good game to get Chisholm in.
We shall see what coach decides to do in about 30 minutes!
From Illegal Curve:
Jets projected lines & D pairs: Ehlers - Lowry - Vilardi Perfetti - Namestnikov - Iafallo Niederreiter - Kupari - Appleton Barron - Toninato - Jonsson-Fjallby Morrissey - DeMelo Dillon - Pionk Samberg - Schmidt Hellebuyck Brossoit
Go JETS GO!

Unfortunately it's Stanley on deck if a forward (Ehlers/AJF) can't go.
The Flyers are missing Couturier and Drysdale tonight and are coming off a rough game versus Minnesota yesterday.....hopefully that helps the under-manned Jets pull out a win.
BTW, tonight will mark the 29th game this year that Winnipeg has been without one of their top line forwards (for a combined 30 games missed between Vilardi, Connor, & Scheifele). That's only 13 games where the Jets had all 3 on the ice.

It could be a tough night if Ehlers is out as well as Sheif and KC. keeping their structure and system will be everything. Go Jets Go !!!

On the plus side...the Jets get a good chance to see how chemistry is with...whover is on the ice at any particular time. If they really are playing all the same system, there should be quite a bit of crossover as long as they keep it simple. This very well could be a team defining game! (as in...solidifying the team identity that they already seem to have.)
