The Jets didn't play a terrible game on Saturday. It seemed like the effort was there and they played their system for the most part but there were some uncharacteristic breakdowns. It seemed like fatigue may have played a factor in the loss as Jets have had a pretty heavy run of games and a virus going through the room. Of course most teams go through this kind of adversity some time during the season.
Well think of it as a time to start a fresh winning streak.
Kyle Connor will be back tonight, ahead of schedule. He says he's felt good for a week or more. In that time, since he hasn't played, he must have been spending most of his time practicing. It may take him a while to get back into game shape but with all that practice, who better to come in and give the PP a shot in the arm?
Scheifele has been moved to the IR retroactively, which means he can, and coach expects he will, play against the Sens on Saturday.
Vilardi is the latest victim of the virus. He did not practice today but he is expected to play.
Jonsson-Fjallby sadly will miss if this scenario plays out. (Personally, I wouldn't mind Appleton getting to sit and watch a game or two.)
Hellebuyck scheduled to start.
From Illegal Curve:
Jets projected lines & D pairs:
Connor - Lowry - Vilardi Perfetti - Namestnikov - Ehlers Niederreiter - Toninato - Iafallo Barron - Kupari - Appleton
Morrissey - DeMelo Dillon - Pionk Samberg - Schmidt
Hellebuyck Brossoit
Go JETS GO!

Let's hope Lowry can step up because he was sorely missed on the third line and didn’t do anything on the first.

Guess you missed the two sweet passes to send Vilardi in one on one with Philly's goaltender. All the lines won the expected goal battle except the 3rd, so Lowry did okay on the first but is needed more on his old unit. At least that's how my old eyes saw things.

Lowry though is definitely being missed on the 3rd line.

How did he do on the pp? You also got to score as a first line centre. It's fine to make beautiful passes but if you're up there on the first you want goals. But he's not a first line centre by any measure and that's understood.

First kid that came out for the ceremonial faceoff looked like a very young Jagr.

But I'm continuing my ragging on a certain winger on the third who is what, at 21 games without a goal?

Yes, disappointing Jets lost on HNIC and understandable that they cannot win every game. Nice to see KC out there for sure. So work out the kinks Jets, and shoot down the nyi.
