Tonight is just another game, right?
I think it's more than that. Jets looking to extend their current 2 game win streak, and prove that they are truly among the league's elite teams. If the Jets 3 or less goals against streak is going to end any time soon, tonight may very well be the night.
Bruins are winners, they have a long memory (according to the pregame report I just saw on WBZ news, their recent 5-1 loss to the Jets is still pretty fresh and raw), they're at home, and they're coming off a 9-4 shellacking of the relatively hapless Habs.
On the other hand, if the Scheifele-less Jets can keep even one of the streaks going, I say we are in the midst of watching a true contender in the making!
Yes, I find it's not a big surprise, Scheifele may be out with that groin injury until after the all star break.
Hellebuyck is scheduled to start.
I am nervous about the line combos. Jets have not really dominated any team since the 1st line has lost Scheif and the 3rd line's been broken up. And I'm sure nobody is expecting any notable improvement in the special teams tonight...hopefully they can just stay out of the box.
Congratulations to Kyle Connor who has been added to the All Star roster!
From Illegal Curve:
Jets projected lines & D pairs:
Connor - Lowry - Vilardi Iafallo Perfetti - Namestnikov - Ehlers Niederreiter - Toninato - Appleton Barron - Kupari - Iafallo Jonsson-Fjallby
Morrissey - DeMelo Dillon - Pionk Samberg - Schmidt
Hellebuyck Brossoit
Go JETS GO!

Pretty much the same points as in my game preview.
"Boston only has one loss by 4 or more goals this season and it was that last game versus Winnipeg (probably the Jets best game of the year)." "Also on the line is the Jets’ 34 game streak with 3 goals or less against and that will be tested by a Boston team that has scored at least 4 goals in 40% of their matches this season (18 out of 45) and are averaging 5 goals per game on their current winning streak." "Coming off consecutive less-than-stellar performances without #55, a little imagination might have sparked more inspired play from the team (trying Vilardi or Perfetti at center in the top six and returning Lowry to his normal 3rd line role), but we’ll have to hope the quality of tonight’s opponent will be enough to make our Jets play to the best of their abilities."
Will be a tough challenge tonight.

This could be a tough one to get 2pts out of. The Bruins are playing great and the Jets have been a bit off. Plus, no Sheif and apparently Vilardi is a game time decision. Regardless : Go Jets Go !!!

^ Bad news...loss of Vilardi will probably kill the Jets chances to win tonight...let's hope Jets can keep that defensive system intact!

^^^^ I hate to think that but it is whispering in the dark recesses of my mind when I heard about it...lol But, hopefully the Jets attitude of next man up and taking down the big boys will be leading them to victory. Go JETS GO!!!

Go JETS GO!!! Oh yeah, it's not hopeless by any means but they'll have to look a lot better than they've looked in the last few games. Need a whole lot of Go Jets Go!

Barron - Kupari - Jonsson-Fjallby They may not score alot but they might melt the ice with the speed on that line.

Music and singers are a personal preference type of thing but I really dislike this type of anthem singer. GIive me Stacey , the various choirs or any of our other anthem singers any day.

I think Ehlers should be on the first line... he deserves it.

I'll be surprised if the Jets don't get trounced tonight. Based on their play of late and the missing players.
