Play a great 1st period on a team on a back to back, then hang on for dear life while being outplayed for 40 minutes.
That's our Jets. This team is an enigma. Thankfully, Hellebuyck was Hellebuyckian.

First period was very encouraging but it still doesn't take much to throw the Jets off their game.

Not one Jets forward line won the expected goals battle at 5 on 5, though the Scheifele and Lowry lines were close. Still trying to find the chemistry with the Monahan line, but surprisingly the Namestnikov trio hasn't been a good 4th line.
Both Appleton & Iafallo are struggling a bit, but not sure Toninato or Kupari are the solution.

There can be a rotation of guys in the pressbox as far as I'm concerned.

Few observations. Jets looked like they were starting to gel after the line shuffles and addition in the first, then for some reason they got stagnant again in the 2nd onward. Logan puts me to sleep when he's on the ice he's so slow, much needed win, hope it gets the morale up, been playing hot goaltenders lately it seems and haven't been getting the bounces we need to score more

Don't know if any of you saw it, but a Leaf player just cross checked a Senator player right in the face after he scored an empty net goal.
A deliberate attempt to injure. Not a hockey play, like the Dillon check.
It will be interesting to see what Parros hands out to Morgan Reilly. I think that's who it was.

It was Reilly with 5 seconds left after Greg scored and empty netter, went right for his head

Lambert scores a PP goal (14th this year) in the 3rd period to tie the Moose's game with Grand Rapids, ending the first 3 game without a point streak of his AHL season.
Yesterday's match went to 10 shoot-out rounds, but Manitoba ended up losing. Reichel ended up winning it for the Moose in the 7th shootout round tonight.
Manitoba is hot lately and may make a late charge for a playoff spot.

This was my post about it on the other site: "The Leafs' Reilly should be suspended big time for that cross-check to the head after an empty netter against. These NHLers are so fragile, you can't slap a shot into an EMPTY net? It's ridiculous."

We will see if they come down hard on a precious Maple Leaf.

He is 4-1-1 in the 6 games he has played and all but one had a .920+ save percentage. Goals against averages between 1.01 and 2.78 in those games. Seems very solid on breakaways, as he was in net for both marathon shoot-outs against the Griffins.

Do they still have a realistic shot at the playoffs?
