Usually 81 waits to disappear in the playoffs.

So has the team in the Greater 204 / 431 The grinders can only chip in here and there. Top 6 guys must carry the team. Counting on KC is a fools game. Teams have figured him out and grind him into submission. Sure he scores pretty goals in the regular season but time to put up in the playoffs.

Perhaps the Jets should make his disappearance permanent. We have already seen that scoring talent alone is not good enough (Laine and DuBois).

Is his prior injury that he suffered this season earlier on still lingering/nagging him? Or, is he no longer a fit on this Team? Mentally and physically speaking, is KC ok? Lots of questions to ponder. I’m sure that KC is not happy with his season so far, I’m not 100% ready to give up on him. Just my thoughts and opinion. Cheers, 2b9😉😃👍

I really don't see any problems with KC's skating since he's returned from the injury. If he was still hurting, I'm sure they would have given him another month or whatever he needed to get back to 100%, especially since Jets were playing so great while he was out.
Well, every 1 in 100 chances to be a responsible defensive forward, you see him hustle back and make a play. He can do it, I say he just chooses not to more often than not...like "I'm the goal scorer, defense is someone else's job".
Listening Bones today talking about Connor, he talked about his offensive struggles, he's trying to makes plays that aren't there etc. (all true), but unless I missed it he didn't say boo about the fact his defensive game is absolute ZERO, which is why he's such a big detriment to the team right now. Tell it like it is Bones because everyone knows, it's always been the case with KC, if he's not scoring he's a detriment to the team. Fortunately he does score in bunches which is why there's so much patience for his game, but can management really look at his overall play and say this is the type of player you need if you're going to go far in the playoffs?
For me Connor was at his best when Laine was here, because all the opposition focus (especially on the PP) was on Laine and his shot and KC was the second banana who could kind of sit in the weeds. (Scheifele also benefited in a similar way with Laine's presence IMO). Back then Connor and his shot were money, exceptional how he could beat a goalie from almost any angle. Since Laine's been gone, a lot more opposition attention on Connor and he does not play through it, for the most part he avoids going to scoring areas and he's not near as confident in his shooting. JMO.

Considering Scheif has singled KC out as a player he loves to play with, I don't think they'll be trading him - I'd be absolutely shocked. I'd bet Chevy would consider him untouchable. And then there's the problem of replacing his goals, when even with KC's flaws, nobody on the Jets except maybe Scheif (if he focuses on scoring) seem to have the ability to keep up with him in goals.

Although, you never know trade wise what Chevy would get for KC, the goals could be replaced with a great trade by Chevy. Time will tell as to what happens, I’m hoping that KC gets it together for the balance of the regular season including the playoffs, then has a OMG for next season, I’ve gotta be good defensively as well. It took Ovi years to develop defensively speaking. Cheers, 2b9😉😃👍
