Too bad playoff OT isn't 3 on 3! You're expecting regulation ties by this bunch? We likely won't be playing much OT.

Bowness always looking to reunite 55 and 81. Just because it occasionally works once in a while. Ehlers makes a couple of mistakes, gets stapled. Connor and Scheifele can give it away all night. No worries. This is more than an ugly win. It's a disgusting win. If Hellebuyck can stop 45 or 50 per game in the playoffs, well, you're telling me there is a chance. Disgusting win, yes, that sums it up!
Agree, Ehlers wasn't playing the way coach wants him to, but who was? Some guys coach will make an example of and some he won't...there must be a lot more that goes into these decisions behind the scenes than what we see on the ice. It's dubious...

Ugly...quit playing after they scored 3 like that was all that was needed and they could call it a night. Got lucky they were able to push back somewhat late in the 3rd after the game was tied up. Connor thrives offensively with the space 4 on 4 provides, but overall I thought his effort was better than a lot tonight. Did the Jets let up though? Or did the Preds just decide they could dominate with speed and pressure that our team can't match.

If I had not seen the score tonight and just watched the game, never would have thought this would be an OT game, but we have Hellebuyck to equalize things some. But no, if tonight is indication of how they're going to roll into the playoffs, I'm not expecting more than 4, maybe 5 games if I'm honest.
The point about 3 on 3 versus 5 on 5 OT is a somewhat different point though...

Well on a positive note, 4 wins in a row however it has come to be, Jets at 102 points, and for an hour or so are in possession of 2nd in the Central.

Was a terrible decision by Stanley to drop the gloves. No reason at all. Got the crowd into the game and gave them momentum.

You're got a point there. Sometimes those marathon OTs get a little tedious.

The only thing this game illustrated is that the Jets need Helle to play at full capacity and the Jets, when its close have the ability to score even though they could be badly outplayed. As Ric O noted Connor loves the open lanes. Luckily their pp got a marker because their pp all season has sucked. The Jets 5-5 are sitting 11th in the league.
Ever since that last Boston game the Jets have played just a little above .500 hockey.

Hit the back of Stanley's helmet useless fight. It wasn't useless to the preds. Old Mo went there way. Nice to see Stanley willing to fight but I'm waiting for his first win (not an old washed up dude).

Didn't see the game but saw the highlights. Hope this was an example of shutting down after one to save yourself for the next "bigger" game. Looking at the metrics they had no right to be in the game let alone win. That's what a hot goalie can do for you, forget the metrics!

it's bad enough that pionk takes dumb penalties at the worst time, but that stupid smile on his face as he makes is way to the box would be enough for me to bench him

Looking at the metrics they had no right to be in the game let alone win. That's what a hot goalie can do for you, forget the metrics! Bucky faced 42 low danger, 16 medium danger, and 5 high danger shot attempts while allowing a goal against from each level. Despite allowing more goals than he typically does, Hellebuyck finished the game with 1.7 Goals Saved Above Average. On the other side of the coin, Jusse Saros ended up with a -1.81 GSAA rating. If you want to see how the shot chart got uglier & uglier after each period, check out my game recap: www.arcticicehockey.com/recap-winnipeg-jets-nashville-predators-2/

Was a terrible decision by Stanley to drop the gloves. No reason at all. Got the crowd into the game and gave them momentum. This was a quote for a Predators' fan site about last night's game... " I've never been at a game where a fight actually changed the vibe that much- the entire crowd changed after that" So you were bang on....no need to fight with a two goal lead unless it is to "protect" one of your players. Not that either really won the fight, but crowds like to see the opposing player go down even if there was no punch to cause it.
