Good topic on the above mentioned Players. On a Montreal based sport show the talk of Ehlers leaving Wpg as well as Steven Stamkos from Tampabay was interesting? If Lambert and Chibricov make the team a couple stud D is probably all we need after we trade off some of our Small Defensemen!

For better or worse (depending on your point of view), every indication out of the Jets organization is that Cheveldayoff will be back next season and probably beyond. There is a saying that the best way to ensure bad behaviour continues is to reward it. Cheveldayoff has consistently produced mediocre teams which have never made it past round one and the team's draft record is mediocre as well. But, what the hell, the team is still making money and the fans haven't had enough mediocre hockey so here we go again. In the Freep today, the Jets' two most respected players (Lowry and Morrissey) who played their hearts out in the recent playoff failure both said that Hellebuyck was not given a chance to win due to slack team defence, so there is team dissent. Bowness has not explicitly said if he wants to remain as head coach or if management wants him. It seem to me he has run up against the same wall as his predecessors- there is a core of players who are quite comfy with the status quo, their money and early tee times.

As per Illegal Curve:
The first overseas signing of the offseason has taken place as Adler Mannheim in the German DEL announced they have signed former Moose and Jet player Kristian Reichel to a three-year contract.

Just thought that Iβd mention this if anyone is interested.
This week/weekend here in Winnipeg, there is a WHA Winnipeg Jets Team reunion for the 1975/1976 Avco Cup Champions/Winnipeg Jets.
Itβs a Gala, if Iβm not mistaken it will be held at the Fort Garry Hotel/Downtown Winnipeg.
I know that Ulf N. will be here for it, he is here in Winnipeg as I write this, just heard him on CJOB 680 am radio talking about the reunion/Gala.
EKJet, this might be of interest to you, also to anyone else that has followed the Jets from 1972 to the present, or Jets Fans in general.
Cheers,
