Need the PP operating. Leafs PP sunk them yesterday. Yep. And especially since we are in Denver for the next two games. 2b9πππ

Off to Denver, hopefully the Jets have a bounce back game on Friday and win the game. Helle has to be better, the βWhole Teamβ has to be better. It ainβt over yet, theyβve got a couple of days until the next game, enough time for a reset. Cβmon Jets, get it together. GO JETS GOππππ Cheers, 2b9πππ If the Jets win in Denver, they have a realistic shot at winning the series. As far as Hellebuyck's playoff record is concerned, yes, he has likely been ridden hard and put away wet, but I suspect that the team abandoning the system in pressure situations and freelancing is the main cause.

Garrett Hohl has some interesting stats on X. Aside from JMO and Dillon, our defence has been horrible in transition. Zone exits with control. You have the usual suspect in Pionk, but Samberg is surprisingly leading the futility.
Get him back on his good side, with Schmidt, who handles the off side better, and is faster than 64. Stanley has not been good. Throws a few big hits, but he's too slow against the Avs forcheck. And too slow to move the puck. Samberg is caught in the wash.
Statwise, all 4 forward lines have been outplayed, with the 2nd line contributing nothing offensively. The numbers are sad. The Avs goalie let them down in game 1. They adjusted and shut down the netfront. Winnipeg needs to do the same and hopefully Helle settles in.
I watched the Oilers-Kings last night. Good hockey. Both teams were just flying. The tempo was off the charts. Aggressive hockey. I see that speed from the Avs. The Jets often look slow and disconnected. Tentative. Maybe the playoff pace is just too much for our guys. Maybe Colorado just wants it more. Honestly, I do not expect a split in Denver. The Avs are in playoff mode. I don't think the Jets can match.

The MakeBeleafs managed to beat the Bruins, so the unexpected does happen. Should the Jets win the next game, it ought to shake the confidence of the Avs and then the momentum shifts to the Jets.

If any one is interested in looking at the expected & actual goals for all NHL teams in the playoffs so far, click the link below to read the article. It also shows the difference between the two stats to try to visualize which teams are facing sub-par goaltending by exceeding expected goals. www.arcticicehockey.com/nhl-playoffs-expected-goals-vs-actual-goals/

It gives one a little faith in advanced stats. The majority of those numbers kind of correlate with what I'm seeing in the games I've watched. The Jets are fortunate not to be down 2. Let's hope they know that and find something approaching Stanley Cup pedigree going forward.

Yep good stuff. Here's the paragraph,"Obvious this table is not a great thing for Winnipeg Jetsβ fans to see, with their opponents topping the league in creating offense and the Jets themselves very close to the bottom. Iβm sure itβs no surprise to anyone who has watched the games, but to actually see in numbers that Winnipeg is almost being doubled in expected goals per game tells us that itβs not only the sub-par play by Connor Hellebuyck that is causing our team issues."

Go back to the 7-0 drubbing by the Jets in Denver. Pretty heady stuff. In retrospect, the Avs didn't care. They know what it takes in the playoffs. They weren't killing themselves for home ice.
Playoff hockey is just such a different level. Moreso than any other sport.
Somebody here said the Avs were playing possum in that game. Whoever it was, very astute.
