I couldn't find this article online yet (we can do the link later when it shows up online), but I wanted to highlight this already. In today's WFP, there is an article by Tim Campbell on Little choosing NOT to wear number 10 (his number for the past few seasons). A native of Edmonton, he says that he will wear number 18 instead - his number when he played Junior hockey for Barrie. A quote from Little in today's WFP article: "'I've been thinking about it a lot since the name came out, that the team was going to be the Jets again,' Little told the Free Press recently. 'And even though the team told me what they were thinking and said publicly they wouldn't retire old numbers, well, I just think this is the right thing to do.'" I like this guy already!!!

Classy move by Little.
Even as a huge Ducky fan like myself I was cool with him wearing number 10 this season.
But if he feels this way, it's okay.

Even the players acknowledge the history of the Jets

Really respect him for making that choice!
However, somewhere down the line without the numbers retired, SOMEONE will eventually wear 10... Let's wait and see after this season and what happens with Phoenix. If we can get our history back, then they should be retired!!!!

The numbers should be straight up retired, and I sincerely hope they will be. What about Kane though?

If only Chipman felt the same way.

I like the idea of honoring the player rather than retire the number.
Zhamnov & Smail wore #10 & #9 after Hawerchuk & Hull without any fuss.

I like the idea of honoring the player rather than retire the number. Zhamnov & Smail wore #10 & #9 after Hawerchuk & Hull without any fuss. That is correct. Even though their numbers were not officially retired as of yet (and Hawerchuk's wasnt even retired by the Jets), I don't recall a fuss that Smail wore #9 and Zhamnov wore #10.
