It seems Winnipeg has reached a turning point in its journey back to the NHL neighbourhood. As new members to the NHL community, Jets fans are now realizing that we are HERE and it's an adjustment to be a part of the club instead of an outsider. There are still a lot of people posting on forums who are taking shots at Phoenix, Florida, and other NHL teams, much the way we all did when we were bitter about being left out in the cold and were waiting for someone to fail and let us back into the NHL. There is a whole thread devoted to whether Winnipeggers should boo Bettman on Oct 9! Is it time to put the hurt away and let bygones be bygones? (For the record, I am still wringing my own hands on that one. I HATE Bettman)
Discuss.

Any points that were valid before the return of the Jets are likely just as valid now. Moreover, there are still a number of basket case franchises in the NHL and Canadian cities other than Winnipeg that deserve a shot at hosting a franchise at the highest level at what is our defacto national sport...

I will never forgive or forget. Lost 15 years and in that im i visited Winnipeg about 4 times including a year stint. I was even there last OCT/NOV when it could have happened but the next time i visit has to be in the summer in a few years hence it will be a long time until i see a jets game. devastated. but i shall watch religiously on tv

You SHOULD NOT forget!
Quebec is still Nordique-less!
Hartford's still been Whaled!
You give 2/3 of the players--including my Captain and Hart Trophy-Winning Winger!--and yet you have less than 1/3 of the teams!
In a 30 team NHL, Canada should have AT LEAST 10!
Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa...add Quebec...
If NY, LA/ANA, and Montreal/Quebec can support two teams, so can Toronto...
And then give one to Hamilton, they've been patient and hungry for one for years!
Coyotes=New Nordiques Panthers=Hamilton Tigers (they can even keep the Big Cat logo)
And then I'd favor expansion to an even 32 teams and 4 team divisions for each conference.
