Hmm... I'm in section 315 so that's still close. I have to miss the game tomorrow but good luck then. Hopefully we'll be able to bump into eachother at a game some time. I doubt they would make people sit in a way that completely ruins their view, but it looked like everyone was sitting on 4-legged chairs pretty much back against the wall. I would not put money on the idea that they wouldn't try to make people sit back, even though it ruins any ability to view the game. But if they try it tomorrow night, they will have a major fight on their hands. It is absolutely not the fault of people with disabilities that the design is as it is. But we have the right to be able to watch the game as we paid good money as well. The reason you were not in 311 the last game was because they put two cameras their instead. They changed their mind and took the cameras away. That is what they told me yesterday. As for our blocked view. The person in the wheelchair partial blocked our view but it was his companion that blocked the whole goal for my daughter and half the goal for me. They have a mess to figure out. I fully understand how you need to see and I support you as I have special needs kids. You deserve to see the game. We do as well. I can't see how they can charge full price if we can't see the net. No word of lie, we were in our seats and could not see any of the four goals scored. Last night we agreed to suck it up and wait for the change but they will have a fight on their hands as well if for the whole season we can't see the net. They have to find a way to make better for everyone. I want to see the game but not take it away from anyone in the handicap section either. I called today and they said they were discussing it and trying to find a solution for everyone.

Plexiglas will be a good start. I will attempt to see how far back I can go tomorrow night and still see the ice (if the railing was made of Plexiglas). That is, unless the ushers are forcing people to sit back against the wall, that is. And if that's the case, there's going to be a big problem. This is a major design flaw.

TN has put a line of tape on the floor and have asked the people sitting on the handicap platform to move back a bit. Apparently, they are going to move the railing back as well but I cant confirm this. Dave- I do know that all 6 seats were occupied, and only know for sure of one wheelchair (with one attendant) in the section. I can't comment for any of the other people that were sitting there. It sounds like our major issue has been taken care of, with our sight lines being greatly improved. One of my group knew the attendant for the disabled person last night and asked him about their sight lines and were told they were fine (although they did comment that they have to look through the mesh as we do) SO......if TN does in fact move the railing back, the people on the platform will have perfect sight lines as will we and everyone should be happy. I'll be at the game tomorrow and will have a better look at things and take some pictures of the changes to post. Dave-what section will you be in? Maybe I'll pop by.

Thanks for the information. Looks like I'm going to be in for a big disappointment tomorrow night if what you are saying is true. I was already having to look through the mesh at times with my feet pressed tightly against the railing. If I have to backup, I probably won't see the whole or most of the attacking zone. Might as well stay at home and watch the game on TV if that's the case. They better change this to Plexiglas PDQ and/or offer partial refunds. Neither of us paid over $1000 to not be able to see the game, so I understand your point.

Not to be mean, but you really don't know what we're talking about here. I'm talking about wheelchair seating and they are now talking about CHANGING where I had previously sat (up against the railing). I can assure you that I would NEVER have agreed to sitting any distance from the railing because you cannot see the ice through the railing. Having sat there for concerts and other hockey games, the idea that I would no longer be able to sit up against the railing never occurred to me.

I'm not sure if they've done this in all the sections though (sting's comments lead me to believe they haven't) Like we spoke about previously, a combination of moving the railing back and changing to plexiglas would be the best solution. We have to look through that same mesh regardless of where you're sitting and I agree that it is not good. As I say-I'm willing to give TN some serious slack on this due to the short timeline and the fact that they've had 7 years to tweak the lower bowl but have basically ignored the upper bowl until now. They certainly seem to have been very responsive already and I wouldnt be surprised if they are trying to get all of this done for the home opener. Good luck tomorrow night.

Hope you are able to come by. Just know that my voice isn't all that loud, so you may have a little trouble hearing me. You are and have been very reasonable about the entire situation and I hope you feel I have been the same. However, I do feel the need to point out that able-bodied people do have the option of standing, although I know that that is not really a solution either because of the people behind you. I have no such option, so the mesh is all I get to see if I have to sit back from the railing. I kid you not that unless my feet are pressed very tightly against the railing, I cannot already see the net unless I bring a pillow to the game to put behind my back so that I can lean forward.

Did anyone here park in Cityplace and use the skywalk to get into the 300 level & how was it?

Did anyone here park in Cityplace and use the skywalk to get into the 300 level & how was it? Not sure exactly what you are asking, but I typically take the skywalk and there are no problems. You go up in the elevator and there is a person there waiting to take your tickets.

We parked in City Place ($8.00) and the tunnels were quick with easy access to the arena. Would have been better if I remembered exactly where I parked, but that is why I got married, she's a human compass. Also very easy and quick to get onto the street and back home after the game.

I will be taking my kids to a lot of games this winter and was thinking this a good option.

Who knew the Internet could be home to logical and reasonable discussion..... I think we both have the same mindset - we both want the best possible sight lines for our money but don't want it to come at the expense of someone else's enjoyment. I truly believe that a combination of moving the railing back/switching to plexiglas will give us both not only our original sight lines back, but probably greatly improved ones at that. If I don't make it by, enjoy the game.

Yes, I do believe that your proposed solution would not only improve the situation as it is now, it would also make the sightlines better than they were before, if you know what I mean. Hopefully, they will make the entire thing Plexiglas, including the top rail. That would be ideal.
