If it's not 'Winnipeg Warriors' I'm boycotting.

Do you think they will have issues with that name due to the gang implications?

I'll bet when the team is purchased it will be the Bears. That seems to be the strong money. Bears or Moose. Neither really rolls off "Winnipeg" very well. If the usually secretive TN is confirming a meeting, I'd highly suspect they are working on a deal. Which teams are for sale? Wasn't it previously rumoured they were looking at buying Saskatoon's team?

With True North already having a "Cool" bear logo, I'd say 90% chance of the Bears.

Do you think they will have issues with that name due to the gang implications? I was being tongue-in-cheek. I hate the idea that gang members get to affect a decision like that but I don't think it'd be 'Warriors' with or without the gang implications. I suspect that 'Bears' is a solid bet though. We'll get to see that wild logo that was being planned for the Jets. m.

I didn't quite catch it all on CJOB so if anyone did , feel free to add or correct. True North is talking to various teams believed possibly for sale. No deal has been made just testing the waters with possible sellers. A team would cost TN 7-8 million. Tickets would likely top out at about $20 - $22, With TN owning the building a attendance of around 3500 would be enough to break even. Season tickets could be as low as around $400. WHL teams in Calgary and Edmonton have done very well with NHL tickets out of reach for many fans.

The NLL could possibly work in Winnipeg. If it;s a choice between junior hockey and Lacrosse, Junior hockey would do 10 times better.
