Yeah you make a good point. Maybe a better comparison would be casual Moose customers who could take the whole family to a game for what it costs for one person to go to a Jets game. I actually think a lot of Jets season ticket holders will buy WHL tickets and I presume there will be discounts or package deals. True North are smart guys. If they want a WHL team, it's because they know it will work. Not only that, but given how successful MTSC is as a non-hockey venue, for them to plug in X amount of lower tier hockey into days that could be used for concerts etc, it indicates they believe very strongly WHL can be very profitable in Winnipeg.
How many home games do WHL teams play? MTSC is going to be jam packed. It may not be Jobing.com arena, but there will be people in it most nights.

The WHL is a absolutely fit for me. I go to about 15 Jets game as part of a package with some buddies. I share two seats with a buddy..one for him one for me. I take my wife to 1 game a year and when my little guy gets older he will get to go to a game. But for them to go my buddy has to give up his seat. Its not possible for me my wife and son to go to a NHL game together however the WHL is totally workable and affordable...PLEASE TRUE NORTH MAKE IT SO!!

Who owns the broadcast rights for WHL games (or does anyone)? Maybe TSN picks them up. They will have a lot of time to fill...

Sportsnet has rights to the Memorial Cup, Since Shaw shows a number of WHL games Sportsnet is not exclusive to the CHL. Sportsnet will need to give up some things to accomodate all the NHL and yes, I know they have multiple networks but I think things like the Memorial cup, some Curling and some NFL that Sportsnet shows now will be on it's way over to TSN.

Anyone hear any news lately on TNSE looking into a WHL team?

Probably nothing to be done until the Icecaps are settled in TBay , The caps may have to play in Winnpeg for a year , if the T Bay arena is not ready.

I would agree that TNSE probably won't bring an extra team here until if/when the Ice Caps are settled, but the only thing I would say is that I highly doubt we see the Ice Caps play in Winnipeg. It would only possibly happen if the arena in TBay isn't ready AND St. Johns gets a new team already so they don't have room. But they will keep extending the Caps in St. John's until they can't, it only makes sense and they already did for 1 year.
