Tough season for Miller. Enroth playing better... gets steamrolled by Lucic. All 5 of Buffalo's players shoulda jumped Lucic and put him out for a few weeks. There's no high road in this. I bet Thomas was crapting his pants though wondering when he was gonna get ran. I hope this springs some life into their rivalvry.

Injured Miller calls out Lucic; Gaustad 'embarrassed' by Sabres' lack of response November 12, 2011 - 10:27 PM Ryan Miller, injured during a collision with Boston's Milan Lucic, didn't play in the third period. However, he sat in the dressing room in a suit until the media arrived following Buffalo's 6-2 loss. He didn't want to talk about the injury, of course. "I'm not really going to get into that," Miller said in TD Garden. "I just stuck around because I wanted to say what a piece of [feces] I think Lucic is. Fifty pounds on me, and he runs me like that? It's unbelievable. Everyone in this city see him as a big, tough, solid player. I respected him for how hard he plays. That was gutless. Gutless. Piece of [feces]."The Sabres did not come to Miller's defense following the hit, other than a couple of shoves by Thomas Vanek and Andrej Sekera. Was it the response they needed? "No, no it wasn't," said center Paul Gaustad, who was on the ice along with Vanek, Sekera, Tyler Myers and Jason Pominville. "I can do more. I'm embarrassed that we didn't respond the way we should have. It falls on myself. I look at myself first, and I wasn't good enough. "We didn't push back. There's no reason to be scared. We had to go after it, and we didn't." blogs.buffalonews.com/sabres/2011/11/injured-miller-calls-out-lucic-gaustad-embarrassed-by-sabres-lack-of-response.html

Meh, one thing that always bothered me was the fact that goalies get a free pass when they're outside of the crease. If a goalie wants to wander and play the puck, let him take the same risks as all other players. Nice hit.

there's a very good reason goalies are not supposed to get hit the same way as other players: their bulky pads make them vulnerable to injury in ways other players are not.
i therefore found it humorous that some dude at HFBoard was claiming goalies should not be protected at all BECAUSE of the extra padding...

As far as I'm concerned, if a goalie is between the pipes he's playing net, if he wanders 25 ft from the net to play the puck he's made the choice to play defense. He's fair game at that point.

If a goalie doesnt want to get hit then he should stay in the net, if your going to come that far out you are fair game.

Lucic was going for the puck, so was Miller, what is Lucic supposed to stop because Miller was going to play the puck??
I don't see the problem here, did Lucic get a penalty on the play? If so for what?
Goalies can't have it both ways

What happened to the good old days when the goalie left the crease he was fair game. Hell the goalie has more equipment today then the players, should be as strong as robocop!!! Didn't see the game but if I was a guessing man the goalie stayed in.

lucic got 2 minutes for charging and he has a hearing with Brendan tomorrow. the one thing I don't like is the way lucic position himself before the hit
