Did any of you guys see the TSN feature on the Jets quarterly grade? Darren Dreger gave the Jets a B, Gary Lawless gives them an F. This guy isn't even from Winnipeg. I can't stand Lawless. Seriously, an F? They just beat 3 of the top teams in the NHL the last 3 games and just took the Capitals to OT. Lawless needs a slap in the face. Sick of his negative attitude towards the Jets and also the Bombers. Sure the Jets started off slowly, but they have vastly improved over the last little while. An F Lawless??? Also Lawless last week "Hamilton will beat the Bombers" www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=381198

I kind of agree. I usually took Lawless' side during the ROTJ campaign, but the "F" on TSN I think is too harsh.
The team has played pretty good in the past few games, and really they had to adjust from playing in a city where they just needed to show up, to Winnipeg where we want to see them win. That takes time.
Lighten up Gary.

The Jets should be better than last yr just because of the atmosphere. Throw in a yr of maturing and they should be better yet. They aren't, and could be well out of a playoff spot in another 15 games. I'd only give them a "D". An F is a fail, and considering they are out of the playoffs and below .500, an F is actually a reasonable grade. They are in fact failing.

gary is an idiot....an F?? this guy is embarrassing for this city......he is so negative towards the bombers and now he's the same with the jets. he is not a big league journalist.....and i dont say that just because i dont agree with him.

He's a d-bag! Come on already, an F? We're one game below .500 and we've got 7/8 points in our last 4. We've beaten Philly twice, got 3/4 points from Washington and beaten the penguins. Maybe if we win the next 10 and with a little luck, we can move up to a D. It must be so exausting being so negative. I wonder what grade the bombers get for going to the cup, f+?

Sometimes Gary is right, but most of the time he likes to talk and attempt to cause a controversy. I started to notice him act this way around the ROTJ and the talk about Phoenix and Atlanta. I now find myself ignoring him talk and tune my ears back in when Hustlers back in the conversation.

Certainly for anyone expecting this hockey team to make the playoffs they are an F at this time as they are not currently in a position to make the playoffs. For people not expecting them to make the playoffs a D would be a fair grade. If you take an NHL median the Jets would grade below this mark. The median being a C the Jets work grade as a D.

Now his sidekick is out to lunch most to all of the time. He's apparently an expert.

Lawless gave us an "F"? That's actually pretty funny. It's so off the mark it's funny. He's the only person who graded any of the Canadian teams with an "F".

I agree about Hustler. I think Hustler is getting better all the time. His interviews have been very slick and professionally done.
But with Gary Lawless, I've been wondering what planet he's been on in the last 2 weeks.
The TiCat victory prediction was weird from every perspective, and was made without any real attempt to explain the prediction, IMO - except that he was negative about Paul LaPolice as coach.
But the F grade for the Jets is: -inconsistent with their recent performance; -inconsistent with their place in the standings to date; -inconsistent with their individual player performances overall -inconsistent with other TSN marks on the Jets (B from Dreger and C+ from McLennan). -inconsistent with being a supposedly up and coming commentator on an up and coming sports radio station with and up and coming affiliation with an up and coming national sports media brand, on a station which has the Jets broadcast rights.
It's the weirdest thing I've heard a local media person say and write in my whole life. Just bizarre.
I agree, I find myself listening to Hustler (and others on 1290), and mentally tuning out Lawless. Lately, I just find him to be too weird to be interesting.

Lawless is a rude, crude talentless hack that should be exiled with Scott Taylor.

wow thats brutal
gary do you think that winnipeg was going to win the cup in there first year, give the team a break. they have a young team the future looks great. I would give the team a C- or a D.
keep up the hard work Jets. Lets see what Gary gives the team half way through the season. I know what he would most lucky give them again a F.

I disagree with Lawless's assertion that Jets earned a grade of F.
