Hefney should grow up. Did he expect the Bombers to either over-pay or hold a gun to Carr's head just because poor little Hefney wants to play football with his buddy? Carr is the bad guy here. You verbally agree to a contract, then be a man and honour your word. Carr will be replaced by a cheaper and possibly more talented import receiver. What sets Carr apart if his natural attributes - his size, reach and stride. But he isnt the most talented receiver in the league nor does he give 100% every snap. He can be replaced. So can Hefney if he feels that strongly about it. He got 15k more from edmonton than what the bombers offered him, I dont see how that is holding a gun to the bombers head. The original deal he agreed to with the bombers was exactly the same as edmonton offered him, but when edmonton heard that he was gonna sign here they offered up another 15k.

I understand that. But he had X amount of time to negotiate with every team that was interested. He had time to weigh offers, submit counter offers etc. After all that careful consideration, he accepted the Bomber offer and agreed to terms with them.
Then Edmonton loses out of LaBatte and ups Carr's offer. Carr, who had a verbally agreed upon contract with the Bombers, goes back to them and tries to get more money.
If I was Mack I would have told him to stick it.
If the situation was reversed, the player, his agent, the CFLPA etc would all be accusing the Bombers of negotiating in bad faith.
Carr gave his word. His word wasn't worth much.

The Bombers have plenty of good receivers - and Canadian ones. The imports are a dime a dozen. No big loss here.
