Not sure if this has ever been asked but why can't TSN Jets show a few Icecaps games here and there. Sure would be nice to see a few up and coming prospects.

Tsn Jets is different than what you would see on leafs tv or another channel like it. It was created specificly to show jets games and nothing else. TSN has no reason to show ice caps games, they wouldnt make any money and that is all TSN is trying to do. A channel like leafs or raptors tv for example is owned by MLSE and are designed to have programming running 24/7.

I somewhat agree, and they certainly wouldn't make much money but I also couldn't see them losing any. Moose games used to be televised from time to time so I see no reason why a few Ice Caps games couldn't be. This is the type of thing that may just take some time to set up though, if they're going to broadcast it I'm sure they would first set it up to be aired in the Maritimes as well as Manitoba.

I believe Ice Caps games are being televised locally in Newfoundland & Labrdour. If that is the case, I couldn't see it costing a whole lot to pick up the feed and throw it on the Jets regional channel. Would it be a cash cow for Bell/TSN? Clearly not, but I can't see it losing any money and for what they charge for it you'd think they might throw people a bone. I wouldn't watch it a ton to be honest, but I'd definitely catch a few games when the Jets aren't playing that night.

TSN Jets does have commercials so you would think any time they could be on-air showing something of interest to Jets fans there would be some money to be made. Probably wouldn't cost them much, if anything, if they could just pick up a feed as jetsorbust said. Other than that, I'm not sure how many Schtickies you have to sell to pay for the production of an AHL game.

Given the price of AHL webcasts it would be a nice addition to the lineup. m.

Not enough for TSN to justify televising them. Paying for all the staff that it takes to get the game on TV and all that, etc etc.... wouldn't make sense for them.

Is there that much to it if they simply pick up the local broadcast from St. Johns? m.

But for TSN there really is no reason to make the effort, they have so many people already buying TSN Jets and adding Ice Caps games wont sell many more subscriptions. TSN would have to make a deal with whoever is doing the broadcasts and that costs money. They wont make much more money by picking up the broadcast and it wouldnt justify whatever cost there was to acquire the rights to the broadcast.
