As for the Winnipeg Jets, they are currently in a division that no one really cares about (except for Ovi's team). So since no one cares about the teams the Jets are playing, they sort of only get half the audience. . I know i shouldnt be ask mad about this as I am. But i just wanna say watch what you say. As a southern hoockey fan I beleive that this blaming of being in a division no one cares about is crap. I mena how could Tampa Bay made the upset they did if no one cared abotu them? There are tons of fans of this division, it is not its fault there are not many games being broadcasted. It's just that the Jets are a new team. Yes. You are absolutely correct. I didn't explain that very well. I really mean to say that the division does not have another Canadian team, and of the teams in the division, Canadians are not as interested in the remaining teams. Washington is an exception becuase of Ovichkin. Perhaps Tampa Bay would have a large number of Canadians interested in watching Stamkos? But I think the point is that since there is only one Canadian team in the division, the Jets have less of a chance of being televised along with another Canadian team. Brodcasting two Canadian teams in Canada effectively doubles the market watching the game in Canada. Otherwise Canadians tend to be interested in an original 6 team from the US if the Canadian team is not playing another Canadian team. Its just TSN trying to maximize the number of Canadian viewers per nationally televised game.

You may laugh, but if Curt Keilback is back calling the game you don't need to have the game televised. I still remember when I was a kid lying in bed and lessening to him call a game, you could close your eyes and see the game as clear as day!

The link is showing me a blank page, so I have to guess as to why there are so few Jets games. For some reason TSN has taken the link down. Perhaps they weren't supposed to release any TV details yet. Nonetheless the whole schedule was pasted here... www.digitalhome.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=143695

We may be on CBC for all these games, but I would be surprised if many of them are on the national feed (and thus the HD feed) since most are the early games, and there are never more than a handful of Saturdays that the Leafs don't play (and get the true national feed / HD channel).

After seeing the full TSN line-up, I take back everything I said about most of Edmonton, Calgary, Vancouver and Ottawa playing each other. That does not appear to be the case. Actually Winnipeg has more televised games with other Canadian clubs then those guys. So i take it back. I guys TSN figures that Winnipeg will not be a big national TV draw? Oh, well. At least the first two Winnipeg games will be televised nationally. October 9th on CBC and the next game in Chicago on TSN.

Not in your region, so I'm hoping for as many national games as possible - looks like 24 so far between CB ad TSN. We'll see what Sportsnet adds.

Its just TSN trying to maximize the number of Canadian viewers per nationally televised game. So are you sure the 17 or 12 games other teams play are against Canadian or "good" or "O-6" teams? I don't believe it !!! And to be honest, conference teams get boring after a while since you get to see them so much? On the other board, it was always argued against anyone saying "people don't want to see Winnipeg team" or "who wants to see a Winnipeg Team". Argued by almost everyone. It was stated as complete BS by the JO's crowd. But here, it is stated as fact against a "southern" team. Not sure how it works both ways. The reason the Jets got 5 games could be scheduling or might even be a money grab from True North knowing they could make more money on local games.

5 games on TSN is dissapointing considering there's a TSN 2 (which I still haven't figured out the point of... all they show is reruns of the Telus Skins game) I was one of the few hoping for the contract to be with Sportsnet. The Jets do have a lot of Saturday night hockey games though and I think we'll get alot of HNIC games. We'll be on at the same time as the Leafs and I gotta think Ontario East will get the Leafs and Manitoba West get the Jets since everybody else west of Winnipeg plays the late game.

I think the majority of Jets games will be on TSN II. Probably not, they will probably use a TSN alternate feed.

Lets see what's on TSN 2 tonight. Oh look at that Curling from April. Such a joke of a channel.
