Kidding aside, I'm against it. But I think they should start punishing the every day user with much more severe punishment, or legalize it. Throwing the dealer in jail when you turn a blind eye to the user is never going to make a difference, the government just needs to decide if they really want it to be illegal or not because right now it's a grey area in practice. So, despite the fact that I hold down a decent job, pay my taxes, hold doors for the elderly, help motorists in snowstorms, let people into traffic (if they aren't being stupid), tip well and hold my cigarette butts until I find an ashtray amongst other things, I should have to do time because I also like to smoke some weed? I do realize that you give two options, but why does the first option even exist? My point is it doesn't make sense to me that we have laws which aren't enforced. IF drugs are illegal, than the people who are using them should be punished. To look the other way about individual drug use, but attempt to arrest every drug producer/dealer is an excercise in futility. They are not the root of the problem, as they wouldn't exist if there weren't drug users. As mentioned though, I'd rather see you stuck with a huge fine for smoking some weed rather than thrown in jail

As mentioned though, I'd rather see you stuck with a huge fine for smoking some weed rather than thrown in jail So by your "logic" and ratio, maybe we should offer the death penalty to anyone caught with a DUI? It's a bad thing to drive drunk right?, far worse than smoking weed so why not make it extreme all across the board so that people wont do bad things right? What would you give J walkers btw? just curious what you feel that penalty should be. People wouldn't stop smoking weed if they thought they were going to get a huge fine, they would just be more secretive about it. Your "solution" would sway the social smoker and that's about it. Suggesting a $5000 fine for someone getting caught smoking a joint is more troll like than "logical" as you suggest.

WEED IS NOT ILLEGAL! Like how john crunken said it. it's decrimalized so don't go out and do it right away.
Weed only got this bad name because of oil and money. hemp does most if not all of what oil does.
U can have 27g on u and just get a ticket, if there is more then they say your trafficing, your aloud to buy not sell, how would those pipe, bong stores be able to sell stuff? same bloddy thing

thanks Tim, pretty interesting. My dad has Glaucoma and I've always suggested he smokes weed to see if it helps, but it's way too foreign for him. Maybe I will make some oil for him to try. Kinda pricey @ 1lb per 2oz (2 month supply) but worth it if it works i guess.

I had to pull my son out of college 2 month ago because he contracted a incurable blood disorder. I am dealing with cancer care Manitoba and now turned to alternative medicine the natural way, and low and behold my son seem to be getting better. Doctor laughs at what I'm trying but it's working and we proved it last week by increase a dosage of herbs one week, and his platelet count jumped big time, and the week we ran out of the herbs he only had a small increase. I know I'm off topic but weed needs to be legalized because it can save peoples lives along with other alternative things. We are now planing my sons return to college next semester.

Not a happy ending yet, but every week things get better and he is safe now. I hope in a couple more weeks he gets of all the Doctors pills and continues on with are alternative medicine that is better for you, safer and natural.
