Actually, aside for Don Cherry, I prefer TSN better. Better intermission talk, better analysts.

Re TSN - they ARE also good, in their own way. Different but good. But as long as I live I will never forget the day that Stephen Brunt broke the story on the globe and mail, and TSN were pouring cold water on that like it was a fire in the woodshed! And Gary Bettman on his cell phone in the stands shaking his head! Don't take this the wrong way - I personally believe that Gary Bettman redeemed himself by working with TN to bring the NHL back to Winnipeg. I just thought that that particular moment was very funny - priceless! And, I will never forget that night! Listening with my son to 1290 and the illegal curve special broadcast, with a very moving introduction. Then going downtown that night with my brother (Phreload on twitter), and meeting up with "Ulf" (jetsowner name), who brought out his Cuban cigars for the 3 of us to smoke. Celebrating with scotch at the Elephant and Castle, and joining the street party at portage and main. Seeing Darren ford there. The police actually smiling and help direct traffic, even closing the street to traffic for awhile. For the Jets return, that Thursday night, and the Tuesday May 31, are 2 days that I will never forget!

Didn't TSN finally rid themselves of McGuire? Thats a tough one...I can't stand McGuire...but Milbury has got to be the worst. Good call. (and MacKenzie is better than Healy). Remember this well, getting my best vodka (pre-chilled of course) and headed down to P&M. Loved how TSN got scooped by Brunt and you could see the devastation in their faces that they didn't break the story....from the network (talking to you Dredger) that said "the Jets will NEVER come back. Never." Re TSN - they ARE also good, in their own way. Different but good. Wow, I'm shocked at the amount of games on CBC nationally, especially since most of them are against American teams. I was thinking we'd have to piggyback off the other Canadian teams. Can't wait until HNIC on opening night!

Can't wait until HNIC on opening night! I'm pretty sure that many of those games on HNIC would be regional broadcasts shown in only Manitoba and Saskatchewan. My biggest concern as a Bell subscriber is that CBC feed from Winnipeg is not in HD. At the risk of sounding like a whiner, hockey broadcasts in standard definition on my 60 inch plasma leave something to be desired. Does anyone know if there are any plans afoot to up-grade the Winnipeg CBC feed to high definition in time for the season?

I've taken internet broadcasts (that are recorded in HD) and hooked up my TV to it; better than SD but still not quite HD. You might want to try that -- use the stream off the internet. (just a thought).

Actually the 21 games on cbc sucks cause more than half of thoses games well not be in HD. The 5 games on TSN and all the reg. games will all be in HD. We're still at the early stages of the HD revolution. Give it another couple of years and everything will be in HD. And when that happens we'll want everything in 3D.....

I am actually excited by the National Jets schedule now that I have looked at it deeper. I will actually only be in attendance for 3 of those games listed, One will be in French though and the other is on Versus. I am rather pumped cause that means that a good chunk of the games I don't get to see will be a National Broadcast and not just local coverage.

What about CBC Pacific HD? I have MTS and have 2 CBC HD channels. The regular one and the pacific timeshift one. Wouldn't the pacific channel show Jets instead of Leafs?

Unless the Canucks are involved, CBC Pacific would just pick up the national HNIC game and usually that's the one involving the Leafs. Our only hope in watching the Jets in HD on HNIC is when they are picked to be the national broadcast but I doubt that will happen very often.
