was just gonna say the same thing...lol. we are NOT frontrunners. what have we done to make that claim?.....signing Oliie??.... gimme a break. i HOPE we are good enough for 8th. We've improved more this offseason than any other team in the Division and its not like we were miles off of the title last season. If we improve our road record and continue to thrive off the energy at home games there's no reason to say it isn't likely. You do realize that we are in the SE again this year, right? With Carolina? They were the one divisional rival that we beat easily last year, and they are the 2nd most improved team this off-season. Do we stand a better chance at 8th? Sure, I'll agree with that. Division title? Highly doubtful.

We've improved more this offseason than any other team in the Division and its not like we were miles off of the title last season. If we improve our road record and continue to thrive off the energy at home games there's no reason to say it isn't likely. We need to improve our home and road records. Remember how we tailed off in the last two months at MTS? Our home record was 23-18 (23-13-5 but a loss is a loss) with a big fraction of those wins coming during the December mega-home-stand). I see room for improvement coming in the first few months. Everything was such a circus in the first few weeks that the hockey was borderline backstage. I remember an interview with Coach Noel where he said he was looking forward to getting to a point where every game wasn't some 'first'. First home game, first road game, first game against the Old Jets, et cetera. The Jets will be a lot less distracted in the first ten games of the upcoming season and will have the chance to set the stage then. Now, those first ten games may be in January, but such is life. m.

mediocre or not Jets 1.0 are the reason we are the most passionate fans in the NHL are they not? This is why Jets 2.0 are called the Jets and not something else we cant relate to

There already IS a banner in the MTS Centre honoring the Jets: thesportsroadtrip.com/win2148.jpg (banner on the right) That's enough for me. All we ever did is look to the past for comfort from 1997-2011. I'm personally tired of that. Loved the old Jets. But now, we have Jets 2.0. I'm not saying forget about the past. I'm saying stop dwelling on it. That's directed to anyone who wants MORE BANNERS and MORE PICTURES "honouring" the Jets 1.0 in the MTS Centre- or anywhere else for that matter. I don't believe those banners are up anymore just the 6 Moose banners, the Canadian and American Flags hang from the rafters

Everytime I drive down Donald or Hargrave it reminds me of how stupid this city is that they wouldnt allow a larger footprint for MTSC. Oh well, in 25 years we can move the arena to the place that currently houses Portage Place. The lease on Portage Place expires in 2062

^ Well its a good thing Winnipeg isn't going to need a new arena anytime soon.

^ 2062 will be here before you know it. I'm taking the day off work tomorrow to do some preliminary architectural drawings for our new arena...
Why wait until the last minute? We did once before and we all know how that turned out...
