In fact, next season we have Wheeler, Bogo and Little as RFA's and Enstrom is a UFA (deadline trade I'd suspect).

Old article with Kane www.winnipegfreepress.com/sports/hockey/jets/nobody-wants-to-leave-peg-146630755.html"Playing in a Canadian market and playing in front of these fans every night definitely made it fun to come to the rink," said Kane. "I really enjoyed playing in the MTS Centre and with this group of guys. It's disappointing not to make the playoffs, but at the same time I thought there were a lot of positives with the season." Asked about contract talks, Kane added: "We're going to have see what happens and sit down and talk with my agent. That's why I pay them the big money. There's a lot going on with the new CBA and all that kind of stuff."

ladd isn't building in assiniboine landing! that's the developer's nephew who's building that home. lots in assiniboine landing have been sold for years.... only in winnipeg do these stupid rumours begin. get your facts straight before u spew! holy cow take a pill there angry troll dude . my neighbour in the trades told me his house is in headingley near assiniboine landing, what difference does it make if it's precisely there or not? the point is it's in that general area close to the iceplex and it shows his commitment to the city. that and it's a big-ass place which helps the local economy. oh and nice comment "only in winnipeg do these stupid rumours begin", i'm pretty sure stupid rumours get started in every city but i'll defer to you because you probably know better about that too.

Comparable would be John Tavares.. same draft year..
Tavares makes 4m, 5m, 6m, 6m, 6m, 6m on a 6 year dal
Kane would come in under that.. probably 3m 4m 5m on a 3 year deal.. I can't see Kane signing more than 3 years-4 years (please don't try and say Kane is as good as Tavares)
this probably won't get sorted until August..

He'll sign. I'd say something along the 3 year line also.

Sign 3 years that way he wont hit the ufa if shows more promise and then give him a 7 year when he is 24.

Obviously it depends what he's looking for though, I would already say he's shown enough promise that I'd be willing to lock him up long term.

I think he'll sign in early July.
It'll be a multi year deal, probably 3 years. As much as I'm sure the Jets would love to have him longer, it's not happening with this contract. I'm sure they don't want to be locked into paying him 50 goal scorer money in a hypothetical year 4 or 5 based purely on one 30 goal season. On the flip side, Kane's agent is not going to accept a deal that sees his client potentially being underpaid in those years, too. Plus, I'm pretty sure he's going to want to test the FA market the first chance he has. Not because he hates Winnipeg or anything, more so just to see what his value is/drive up his price.
Based on those elements, I'm saying 3 years with an average cap hit of 4.5-4.75 million. Deal announced second week of July (lets say the 11th, two more weeks).

There should be a third option saying despite no longer being the oilers GM Kevin Lowe offers him a ridiculous contract and we get compensation.
On another note regarding Ladd he is building a house (not in Assin)

No deal today, and I think it's a virtual lock that he moves on. Some ass team will sign him to a deal that he's nowhere worth leaving us no choice but to take the compensation.
That tinfoil suit he wore, said mountains about his ego and character. My feelings have zero to do with any rumours too.
