You guys all realize this jersey is completely different[/b] from our eventual 3rd jersey, right? Because I have a hunch you guys would also vote for the old Jets jersey for THAT one too. *eyeroll* Like, guys... enough already. True North called our new team the "Jets". But now some of you seem to want Chipman and Thomson bow down, worship, and constantly honour and praise the 1972-1996 Jets, which (again), I find absolutely ridiculous. It's insulting to True North in a way. And insulting to the Victorias (who, uh, won the STANLEY CUP 3 TIMES), and the Falcons (who, uh, WON OLYMPIC GOLD). No disrespect- but there was hockey in Winnipeg before 1972 ! And before some clown on here says I "hated" the 1979-1996 Jets, know that I have wonderful, cherised memories of seeing our boys down at the old barn back in the day. I loved going to games!

Slippy, in your own words "enough already". Accept that most here have a different opinion than yours. You say no disrespect, but that is all you're showing. Your venom for those people is surprising.
Oh, and no more PM's telling me to blank off. If you don't like what people say tell them publicly.

[/quote] As everyone else has said already to you, no WHA Jets, no jets now. I like what McGuire wrote, the Jets are all one and the same, I agree with that, and completely disagree with what you ware writing. I picked the 73 WHA jersey

The players who played for the Winnipeg Victorias and Winnipeg Falcons must be rolling in their graves right now...

The players who played for the Winnipeg Victorias and Winnipeg Falcons must be rolling in their graves right now... the Victorias were an amateur club. the same thing for the Falcons. LEARN YOUR HISTORY! the Stanley Cup of that ERA was a Challenge Cup, meaning ANYBODY who had seven players could take a shot at it. they cannot be compared to today. are you trying to tell us that the Kenora Thistle or the Dawson City Nuggets ( or whatever they were called) can be compared to ANY of the Stanley Cup Champions since 1929??........ not a chance my friend.

^Plus, it's really about which team/jersey with which the fans can identify. What connection do today's Winnipeg fans have with the Falcons or Victorias? That is not, what we would call, the modern era. And you have to think "business". Jets jerseys of some variety would be more likely to fly off store racks than some replica of an ancient artifact.
And, come on - would you really like to see a smattering of yellow Falcon jerseys mixed in with Jets jerseys at home games? Bleah.

Where do I say I hate everything Winnipeg? I LOVE the Winnipeg Jets. I LOVE the Winnipeg Goldeyes. I love MTS Centre. I love Shaw Park. There are 10,000 reasons to hate the Blue Bombers. PM me if you're interested in hearing them. The only ppl that love the Blue are ppl who think they're supposed to, ppl who have been sth for "X" amount of years and always renew no matter what, and ppl who have been a fan for so long they're completely blind and ignorant to how this sports franchise operates. There I said it. And I can't stand those of you who think True North should constantly bow down and worship and honour Barry Shenkarow, The Winnipeg Arena, Winnipeg Enterprises, Doug Smail, Thomas Steen and everything about the 79 - 1996 Jets who never won anything by the way- and were an extremely poorly run sports franchise. Also if you're one of those people who think we never would've had the Jets 2.0 without the Jets 1.0, please, explain to us all in detail, how Miami, Columbus, Nashville, and Anaheim all got NHL hockey franchises. Thank you.Get it now? Ummmm you haven't heard of the Southern experiment that Gary B. came up with when he took over, (strange most true Canadian hockey fans know this story like the back of there hand) that's how Miami, Columbus, Nashville, and Anaheim all got NHL hockey franchises. We could have built a 18,000 seat arena and pre sold it for 10 years, and Gary would not have even looked our way if it wasn't for Jets 1.0. Winnipeg was always hated by the NHL and the NHL owners, who drove up the players salary's, who was the first to offer competition with the NHL, The Wpg Jets in the WHA. History speaks for itself and if we didn't kick the door down back in the 80's we still would not have a team.

Ok, I think I got it: Nashville, Anaheim, Columbus, Miami, Tampa, and Carolina all were awarded NHL teams because it was " an experiment". Winnipeg got a new NHL team because we had an NHL franchise playing in a non-NHL buiding from 1979-1996. Gotcha.

Very obvious you don't know much about the history of this league, the WHA, and the Winnipeg Jets organization.
