Love the Jets. Love the Goldeyes. Hate that.. other team... for so many reasons.
The Jets & Goldeyes are 2 fantastic sports organizations; among the best-run in Canada.

I am not a baseball fan at all, however if shaw park was built for AAA, why don' t we have a AAA team, I hear the bluejays farm team is up for relocation, if this could happen even i would be interested , and I am sure more people would as well in my opinion.

Shaw Park was NOT built for AAA, Winnipeg is too far a distance for the AAA leagues. The Winnipeg Whips were the Expos AAA team for 2 years but the distance to other cities on the east coast (International League) was way too expensive. The Blue Jays have an agreement with the Buffalo Bisons to be there AAA affiliate. Shaw Park was built for the Pan Am games and for the Goldeyes to move from Winnipeg Stadium. There was never any intent to try to get an MLB affiliated team. Interesting that the Whips moved to Winnipeg from Buffalo in 1970.

Winnipeg Whips... I still think that's a fantastic team name! I remember as a kid going to an exhibition game between the Whips and Expos. Back then there was a baseball grandstand where the current Bomber offices, dressing rooms and store is now.

So yes when an affiliation runs out, the MLB team can choose to move the affiliation to another city. The Expos moved the AAA affiliation from Buffalo to Winnipeg in mid season 1970 and then in 1972 moved the affiliate to Peninsula. So it all comes down to the contract they have in regard to length of affiliation and right to break the contract if certain terms are breached. In early 1970 Buffalo was dead last in International league attendance, and then Winnipeg has first (in average attendance) for the remainder of the season. The only reason the team moved was that with Winnipeg so far west of the other International league teams Winnipeg/Montreal had to pay the air fare for travelling teams to come to Winnipeg, making the team a money loser despite excellent AAA attendance.

i recall HEARING ( wasnt born yet) that the St.Louis Cardinals would come up here to play some exhibition games. i love the modern day game ( pro sports), but sometimes i wish for the days of old when the game was accessible to EVERYBODY and the athletes that played the games were just like us regular joes.

The original Goldeyes were a Cardinals farm team, I know the Cardinals played the original Goldeyes in 1963 perhaps other years.

Right, but it has to be to another city that has an affiliation with a AAA league... ie: not Winnipeg. The Jays couldn't just randomly put a AAA team here because Winnipeg isn't a member of any of the AAA leagues.
