The Jets have, thanks to the "choke", moved up to picking 15th. If Carolina or Washington pass them that will change to 14th. If the "choke" turns into a trend the silver lining is a better draft position with a slight, very slight chance of moving up (down?) to the 10th or 11th spot. TSN April rankings are not posted yet but here are the March 7 to 17 rankings:
7. Sean Monahan 6 Ottawa (OHL) C -1 8. Elias Lindholm 7 Brynas (SWE) C -1 9. Nikita Zadorov 8 London (OHL) D -1 10. Zachary Fucale 10 Halifax (QMJHL) G 0 11. Max Domi 14 London (OHL) C +3 12. Hunter Shinkaruk 12 Medicine Hat (WHL) C/ R 0 13. Alexander Wennberg 18 Djurgardens (SWE) C +5 14. Anthony Mantha 17 Val d'Or L +3 15. Josh Morrissey 11 Prince Albert (WHL) D -4 16. Ryan Pulock 13 Brandon (WHL) D -3 17. Adam Erne 15 Quebec (QMJHL) L -2
Domi looks like he may be a possibility although Shinkaruk looks like he may have something.

Wow it just gets better for the picking position, up to 9th. Unfortunately it required falling completely out of the playoff race. The "zone" 5. Valeri Nichushkin 5 Chelijabinsk 2 (RUS) L 0 6. Darnell Nurse 9 Sault Ste. Marie (OHL) D +3 7. Sean Monahan 6 Ottawa (OHL) C -1 8. Elias Lindholm 7 Brynas (SWE) C -1 9. Nikita Zadorov 8 London (OHL) D -1 10. Zachary Fucale 10 Halifax (QMJHL) G 0 11. Max Domi 14 London (OHL) C +3 12. Hunter Shinkaruk 12 Medicine Hat (WHL) C/ R 0 13. Alexander Wennberg 18 Djurgardens (SWE) C +5
Domi and/or Shinkaruk look more and more like a possibility however, Nurse would make a great partner for Trouba..

With the season now over the next thing on Chevy's mind is signing his free agents but not far from those thoughts is the draft. The Jets will be picking from the middle of the pack and likely won't have the opportunity at anyone in the the top ten so that realistically leaves them looking at the 11 spot on down. A couple interesting prospects who may fill some holes in years to come are Frederik Gauthier, a 6' 5" 210lb centre, and Ryan Hartman, a 5' 11" 187lb right winger with a nasty disposition.

Those rankings you posted are not TSNs april rankings, those are Craig Buttons current rankings. Craig Button is a former scout and bases his rankings on what he thinks.
The true TSN rankings will be released sometime soon which are done by Bob Mckenzie who polls a bunch of scouts across the league and then uses thier answers to create a ranking.

The guy I want is Max Domi, this kid looks like a true warrior. He is, depending on who you belive between 5'9-5'10 and 180-190 pounds(Tie Domi's kid so no suprise). He scored 87 points in the regualr season and is currently tied with Scheifele for the OHL scoring lead in the playoffs with 25 points in 14 games.
He may be small but Dale Hunter and Bob Mckenzie have both compared his lower body strenght and skating ability to that of Crosby, and he is apprently a beast in the corners.
On top of all of that he is a type 1 diabetic, which shows just how much harder he has worked to get where he is.
This kid has heart and charater, and a great amount of passion for the game and depending on which rankings you look at people have him ranked anywhere from 10th to 22nd.

I wouldn't mind drafting Domi or Mantha. Anyone know anything about Adam Erne and Hunter Shinkaruk?

Trade our lower #1, one of our #2's, one of our #3's and Buff to get the #2 or 3 pick overall and take MacKinnon or Drouin.

I wouldn't mind drafting Domi or Mantha. Anyone know anything about Adam Erne and Hunter Shinkaruk? Shinkaruk is a goal scorer / play maker but is a little on the small size, 86 goals in last 2 yrs, Earn doesn't score near as much but plays a very physical game at 6' 1" 195lbs

The problem with drafting a guy like Mantha, or even Drouin is that we dont need another LW player, we already have 2 solid left wingers who are going to score at least 25-30+ ever year.
We need centers and if we can find a way to move up and get Mackinnon that would be great, but if we dont we will still get a really good center with our pick and still have 3 2nd round picks and 2 3rd round picks in a draft that most people are calling the deepest draft in the last 10 years.

Yea Mckenzie posts his rankings 3 times a year, at the start, just after the WJC and at the end of the season/before the draft. The only reason I pointed out that they are Craig Button's are that Craig Button's rankings are usually a fair bit different than everyone elses including Mckenzies which are based on team scout opinions.

They're all very close with only a few differences. I post Buttons' because he updates them more often.

So it is now official, we finished with the 13th overall pick. If we win the lottery we pick 1st, if the last place team wins(Florida) we keep our 13th overall pick, and if anyone else wins it we move down 1 spot to 14th.
We have a 0.8% chance of winning the lottery, but stranger things have happened before. No matter what happens we are going to get a hell of a player with our 1st round pick.

They're all very close with only a few differences. I post Buttons' because he updates them more often. Buttons are usually the most different, but he has admitted that everyone else tries to predict where guys are going to get picked almost completely based on thier current ability, and his standings favour future potential much heavier than current ability compare to everyone elses. That is one of the reasons why Couturier fell from being ranked 1st for most of his draft year down to 9th. People ranked him high becasue he was the most NHL ready but as the draft got closer players who project to be better than him in 3-4 years moved ahead of him in the draft.
