DRAFT DAY DEAL
Buffalo is looking at rebuilding and the Jets need a right winger. Shinkaruk could be great pick, Would Buffalo consider a deal with Chevy; swapping first round picks with the addition of one of the Jets' second round picks.? This would be if Shinkaruk is still available at Buffalo's pick

This would be if Shinkaruk is still available at Buffalo's pick Buffalo has a bunch of picks. 2 in the first. They might be thinking of moving up, not down. Besides, do you think Shinkaruk is going in the top 10? I'd pass on that deal and take whoever is available at our pick...he might be there. If we're trading up, go for a top 3.

We'll never be able to trade up to a top 3 without giving up the farm. The top 3; Jones, Drouin, and McKinnon are prospects that nobody will give away. So, realistically we have to look at 4 on down for a potential trade with the odds of making a trade improving as you get further down the list and closer to Winnipeg's pick. I chose Buffalo to trade with because of the management situation and their intentions to rebuild. They've already started the process with the pre deadline transactions they made. They're open for business and talking deals with anyone who'll listen, with draft choices as their priority. The next best thing is Philly who are backed into a corner trying to unload some cap space but who do they have that they're willing to give away? Their young guns or veterans with big contracts? It's the vets and those players will only be short term gains. The only deal I'd make with Philly is for the Schenn brothers, both of them! (and Bryz, just so i can listen to a conversation between him and Noel )

I think jones is overrated. The other two will be more impact star players IMHO.

Domi would easily be top 5 if he was bigger and didn't have the double whammy of having type 1 diabetes and celiac. Dude has insane talent; did anyone else catch his pass to Horvat the other night against the Winterhawks?
Being a diabetic myself, the disease on its own can be a bitcch....but celiac too is just awful.

I have a gut feeling the Jets will pass on Domi if he's available at 13. He's not a Chevy type player being 5'10. But perhaps I'm wrong considering his skill set.

He is really fast, strong on his skates and good in the corners. I think he would be the perfect player to play with Kane. Has the speed to keep up and his size wont hurt him in the corners and in puck battles as most other small guys.

I'm starting to wonder what Chevy really thinks about non N.A players, since coming here he has drafted only Canadian and American players.
A few of those mock drafts have us taking a Russian player, but so far Chevy seems to like to stick with the N.A kids.

He has signed European free agents. Perhaps he's only willing to gamble on na draft choices. I'm okay with that strategy.
