The Sioux no longer exist. The University of North Dakota teams do not have a name Yes I'm aware that they are no longer officially called the Sioux...however to the fans of NDSU they will always be called The North Dakota Fighting Sioux...The NCAA forced NDSU to stop using the Sioux name. Also, it's UND (University of North Dakota) not NDSU (North Dakota State University...which is a thing. Their teams are called the Bisons)

Thunder Bay ain't happening. I've talked to "some" people. I'll be brave enough to put $$$ on it. Love Thunder Bay, but it's not happening. Well we will eventually see who is correct. I put my sources up against yours any day! It's 3 years away so it's not something we will know for a bit but I'm pretty confident. Brew I don't need to put $$ on it. Bragging rights will be good enough for me

Look at the Marlies. That team loses money every year, the Leafs keep the team in Toronto for the purpose of scouting and the convienence of call ups. That's why TN would want a team in Thunder bay, even if it loses money every year it is convienient for them

The Leafs make a ridiculous amount of money each year, so they can afford to lose money on their AHL team. The Jets cannot. Otherwise, the Moose would have stayed in Winnipeg, when the Jets returned.

At any rate, if the IceCaps do move to Thunder Bay, I really hope the new name is the Thunder Bay Lightning

Knowing how invested True North is in the identity, I suspect they would be named the Thunder Bay Moose.

You guys should wager a jersey....
Unless there is a breakdown between Danny Williams and Mark Chipman I can't see this happening.
I also strongly suspect the Moose name will be revived when TN buys a junior team, unless they use the name/logo they had originally designed for the Jets.

Moose would be a fine name. I really liked the jerseys they wore before they left for NFLD. I suspect they'd keep the same Jets color scheme though

Hershey Bears are AHL. I think he meant for a junior team as it was posted in response to me.
Is that Manitoba bears or Winnipeg Bears? I guess Winnipeg since Brandon has a WhL team.

How about the IceCaps stay and Thunder bay becomes the Jets ECHL team partnered with say one of the Ontario teams.
