Regardless of the outcome of today's game between CDA vs LAT, I think this has been a successful year for Head Coach Ted Nolan! What a comeback story! You just know a book or a movie is going to come out of this...its a great story. Congrats Ted Nolan! Welcome back to Pro Hockey! interesting. i remember a guy here that said that Ted Nolan would have been a good relacement for Noel and was told he wasnt good enough anymore. who was that guy again?.

Team Canada is a fantasy team. I bet the high forwards @ Team Canada wished they had picked some character players. Andrew Ladd would look good out there now !!!

His team has 0 points in the Olympics, the NHL team he's coaching has lost 4 straight, dropped 8 of the last 10, and seems destined to be last overall in the league. There's much better "comeback" stories out there right now.

IMHO: Being blacklisted from the NHL Coaching ranks, and taking a highly-underskilled & underrated Latvia team to their 1st ever QF berth, and being asked to rebuild a poorly constructed NHL team....by the SAME team that he lead to the Stanley Cup Finals....to me, that's a comeback story. To others, maybe not. No problem; its how one views things...which reminds of this cartoon...

....by the SAME team that he lead to the Stanley Cup Finals.... My apologies...Nolan won the Division title and Jack Adams for Coach of the year in 1996-97; then fired and replaced w/ Lindy Ruff who took them to the Finals....obviously a completely different team (insert sarcasm here). But I stand corrected. No one is perfect. Thanks for correcting me. that said, I still see this is a great comeback story (maybe b/c of how I view things) for Ted Nolan. He had an "interesting" path back to the NHL and I congratulate him on making his way back despite all the obstacles he faced.

Kulda knocks out Tavares! www.nhl.com/ice/blogpost.htm?id=26368Canada's Tavares to miss rest of Olympics Wednesday, 02.19.2014 / 3:20 PM By NHL.com Staff SOCHI -- Canada center John Tavares will miss the remainder of the 2014 Sochi Olympics with a leg injury sustained during his team's quarterfinal game against Latvia on Wednesday. "He's got a leg injury, he's out for the tournament," Canada coach Mike Babcock said. "He'll be re-examined by the New York Islanders people and I'm sure they'll have an announcement." Babcock said he didn't know if Tavares would be heading home right away. Tavares, the captain of the New York Islanders, took a hard hit from Latvia defenseman Arturs Kulda in the second period and struggled to get back to the bench before eventually leaving for the dressing room. He did not return for the third period. "He seemed to be in a fine mood," Babcock said. "Obviously disappointed he's injured. But I spoke to him." Tavares has no points in four games but a plus-3 rating and six shots on goal while averaging 10:39 of ice time per game. He's also third in the NHL with 66 points in 59 games with the Islanders.

He turned down a 1 year contract extension, then the offer was pulled. He then turned down an offer to coach the Tampa Bay Lightning, then turned down an offer as assistant coach from the Islanders. He returned to coach the NYI from 2006-2008. His coaching record: 158-159-19 His playoff record: 6-11 I personally wish him all the best. But in my opinion he isn't all that he's cracked up to be.

I hate Subban... Hate him hate him hate him but gosh darn it he should be playing in these games. Defending isn't our issue right now... offense and fast breaks are and Subban is darn good at both. Will never understand how the reigning Art Ross winner and Norris winner could be this shunned. Unbelievable IMO.
