Glad we pulled it out? I'm glad Finland didn't. We dominated that game in every aspect and even though there weren't a lot of scoring changes, we had 3 or 4 times as many chances. We didn't pull anything out if you ask me. all im saying is that in games like that, where one team is dominating the other( just like how the Jets beat the hawks), like we were today and only up by 1 more often than not the other team comes back to win. the longer that game went 1-0 the better it was for Finland. so yeah...im glad we PULLED IT OUT. Sorry, I know it's just words, but to "pull it out" implies to pull one out of the hat, like a magician. Which would then infer that, in this case, Canada didn't deserve the win. Now to your comparison, Winnipeg's win wasn't "pulling one out" either. We got dominated in the first, played an even second, then dominated CHI in third. That game was a toss up. Canada dominated all 3 periods and won. So call me picky, but IMO, you are misusing the phrase. Had Finland won, they would of surely "pulled one out" though.

I'm just happy it went to OT cause it means Sweden gets the #1 seed and one of Austria or Slovenia.

Canada was indeed lucky to win that game. i misunderstand nothing about that phrase. and the Jets game?....there was no toss up there either.

Latvia is home of the best hockey fans in the world, although Belarus may have an argument as well. It'll feel like a home game to them, which may give them something to build off of. That and they have 9 players from one KHL team (Dinamo Riga) plus a pair from another

Latvia over Switzerland has to be considered an upset. I'd say Finland over Russia at home is an upset, too.

Very happy to see Russia lose. Would have loved to see the look on Putin's face.
Canada - Finland - USA would be a fine podium in my book. Go Teemu

I will never get sick of watching a Teemu Selanne game-winner goal celebration! Brings tears to my eyes! Congrats to Teemu & Olli & all the other Finns! Great victory! EDIT: And what a game by the newcomer & former Moose player Michael Granlund! WoW!!

Cörey Masisak @cmasisak22 10m Selanne said he "felt a little bit sad" for the Russians. Said it would have been "a great story" if they had won gold. Seriously. This guy. ....and this is why Teemu Selanne is my idol! #BestAmbassadorForHockey

Regardless of the outcome of today's game between CDA vs LAT, I think this has been a successful year for Head Coach Ted Nolan! What a comeback story! You just know a book or a movie is going to come out of this...its a great story.
Congrats Ted Nolan! Welcome back to Pro Hockey!
